Voting Time!

Very fitting for the day I had today!

There are eight tales of woe ready for reading and voting. Remember, the most votes will get a $15 LJ coupon and the second most votes will get a $5 LJ coupon. In case of a tie there will be a runoff.

You can read them all here and also by the link next to each person's user name.

I mentioned I'd give at least a couple of days. I'm pretty sure I won't be around on Wednesday, so the cutoff for voting will be Thursday, July 1, 2004, 8 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (July 2, 4 a.m. GMT).

Listed in the order posted.

[Poll #314187]
And about all the missing comments on that post - I've temporarily screened any miscellaneous chatter and non-eligible posts (sorry!) so it'll be easier to read. They'll be back after the contest is over.

What about mine? Am I not eligible?

I thought you weren't at that job anymore - no? :(

Wah! Yours was a very sad tale though. :( :(

Well, there are a few that really deserve something but [livejournal.com profile] familyarchives just has to get my vote because I really understand where she is coming from. I could have written an almost identical tale of woe 18 months ago. Having too little to do in a job is far *far* worse than not having enough to do... it's absolutely soul-destroying and ends up affecting all parts of your life and your future job prospects if you can't shake yourself out of it.

Hugs to [livejournal.com profile] familyarchives.

Oh yeah, I completely know the not having enough to do. Sadly, that was my situation at the end of my last job. Fortunately, they let me play on the internet all day. I created my website at work, wrote stories, etc. But I was *really* lucky in that way.

Now I'm at the opposite end. There's way too much to do here. This office could have at least two more people working here and we *might* be able to cover everything. I'm usually working 11 - 12 hour days (okay, not as bad as some) but it wouldn't be bad if we came anywhere close to being done with all the demands put on us. It's demoralizing to always be behind. Mentally, I've gotten to the point where I don't care anymore and have shut down.

Wah! You dismissed my lack of lickable coworkers?! Wah!

Ooh, mocking monkeys ...

Well see, you've got a licking problem. And if it's turned into a *monkey* licking problem, I really, really, really don't want to know about it.
