Hump Day Update

  • I'm the proud owner of the Futurama season 4 DVDs. *sniff* So. Beautiful. On the commentaries I've watched so far, none of them have had John DiMaggio. :( Hope he's on at least some of them.

  • Happy August birthday to a bunch of people! To name a couple – late happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] stars_like_dust and early happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] anr!

  • LJ very amusing today. Funny how some think that disagreement is an attack. I've seen it many times before. It's the "my thoughts and ideas have been pooed down by angels themselves so if you publicly disagree with me you must be mocking me (OR A TROLL OMG)" syndrome. It's very entertaining to watch. And blocking people for a fandom debate? Pffft. Talk to me when you've got a creepy sex addict emailing you and then we'll talk blocking.

  • But even more shocking – Costco had Christmas decorations. Um, maybe you didn't hear me. CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS. *looks at calendar* Yup, still August 25th ...in the year of the INSANE.

That's so much FUN!

Heh.

Tell me about it!

Michael's and Joanne's have had them out for over a month now. Or possibly they just never put them away...

I have a feeling this is what we're heading towards - a perpetual Christmas. Meep!

Well, if those big Christmas stores can make money year-round... *shrug*

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2004-08-25 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Eeep! Year-round Christmas stores?

*hides*

[personal profile] icepixie 2004-08-25 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed. We had one here in Nashville for a while, and there's a [i]huge[/i] one (like, as big as your average K-Mart or Target) in Gatlinburg, TN. I went there this summer...it was even creepy to someone like me, who loves Xmas stuff. I couldn't imagine working there. Although we bought the most adorable blown glass seahorse ornament...

[identity profile] splash-the-cat.livejournal.com 2004-08-25 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Bronners. 45 minutes from my home town. All Christmas, all the time.

They're excused, because even the stuff they have that you don't have to actually plan ahead and make? Is being bought by crazy people who plan that far ahead to coordinate with the things they are making.

But Costco? :: boggle ::

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2004-08-25 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I nearly fell over when I saw the giant wreaths.

Or by crazy people like me who just like Christmas decorations and ornaments... *slinks off, mumbling to self about garlands and trees*

*giggle* Then there are people like me, who wait until the big post-holiday blowout sales to get glitzy bead garlands and stuff on the cheap for costuming...

[personal profile] icepixie 2004-08-25 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, my mother and I go to those, too... Always on the lookout for ornaments. They come out wiht prettier ones every year.

My son phoned me at work this morning to tell me that our Futurama DVDs had arrived, which was rather cruel and sadistic of him, I thought, on a day when he knows I won't have time to watch TV at all. I've taught him well.

"Once more we reach a faux pas."

Bwahahahaha! I've been laughing at that all day.

That is priceless! :D

You know, I've never been able to feel particularly fond of Futurama. Sorry, MV.

But even more shocking – Costco had Christmas decorations.

That's because if you wait until Christmas to buy them, all they have is stuff for the fourth of July...

Sorry for the late wishes - I saw people sending you wishes and I kept telling myself, "Must wish Claira a happy birthday." *distracting things happen* "Dang! Must wish Claira a happy birthday." *more distracting things happen* Well, you get the idea.

We have already started getting Christmas stuff in the store. And Halloween is already up on the shelfs.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2004-08-26 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
When I was at the store, I spotted the Halloween stuff and was thinking it was kinda early for Halloween stuff, but not surprising. And then I rounded the corner and saw the Christmas stuff. *cries*

DM's always wonder why the stockroom is such as mess. It's because they send Christmas in September.
