"I take it you're yet another member of the UNIT team?" "Yes. Depressing, isn't it?"

Doctor Who and the Silurians (Three, Liz)
  • I continue to be totally impressed with the Three era. This episode even seemed to be a bit ahead of its time. Oh sure, there were cheesy green lizard people running around, but a plot involving a pandemic as well as shades of grey on both sides - if you boiled this one down to the bones, you're seeing stuff like this on BSG today. Without the love squares, that is.

  • Each Three episode I've seen so far has instantly reminded me of elements in New Who, and this was no exception. At the end of this episode you have a *very* similar situation as the end of The Christmas Invasion. The Doctor wants to keep the Silurians in their hibernation state, but while his back is turned, the Brigadier blows them all up. And like to Harriet Jones in TCI, the Doctor utters, "that's murder!"

  • A young Geoffrey Palmer! Hee!!

  • I love Liz. I really do. She's just so...Liz! I'm sad I've only got one more Liz episode to go. I may save it.

  • I think I may need a Three "pout" icon. And I thought Ten pouted. *Three* pouts. And it's even more amusing because most the time he's this level-headed practical type, but he does have that five-year-old streak in him. :D (But I guess the Doctor's always had that five-year-old streak in him in different ways, no matter the incarnation.)

  • A bit weird seeing the "Doctor Who and the Silurians" title. Guess this was before they dropped the "Who" part as being sorta his name. Like how he's got "WHO 1" on his license plate. (Kinda a nice little nod then in TCI with the WHO4RWS on the taxi license plate. See? Now I'm getting all these little nods!)
