Apparently SG-1 is going to be back for a 10th season. I think I'm going to sniff around ahead of airings and only watch episodes I know are going to be good off-world team eps. Hmm. I wonder if Jack's going to be in anything ever again.

poohmusings and I caught "Zero Hour" this past weekend. I'm sorry to say that I miss Jack way more than I thought I would. And I think it might be a make-or-break thing with me as far as continuing to watch on a regular basis. I really wanted to like the new SG-1, but the first half of S9 just hasn't done it for me. :(

Dammit. Can't these people figure out when stuff needs to end?

Personally, I thought SG-1 was done at the end of Season 8. What I would have liked to see happen was a mini-series follow-up akin to Farscape. But not a whole 'nother season. Don't introduce new stuff, just wrap up the loose ends.

Heh heh. Well, I guess they figure if the ratings are good and the crew and cast are willing, "why not?" And if people are liking the new stuff, more power to them. But yeah, S8 would have been a good place to end it.

But this is how you ruin something that was really really good. You continue on AFTER you've concluded things. Just like the X-Files after the massacre of the good aliens and government people at the airport. At that point the series was done and the bad aliens should have come down and destroyed everything.

That's when they didn't knnow when to quit!

Yeah. :( I really hope SG-1 doesn't get horrible. So far, to me, it hasn't been bad, just not very interesting to me.

The only reason I'm still watching it is I'm still interested in Atlantis. I've got nothing better to do till SGA comes on. So I watch it... but not with a lot of enthusiasm.

I'll give it another half season and see where it goes.

I am staying with the belief that there were only eight seasons of Stargate. That's when they defeated the Gou'auld, dismantled the replicators, freed the Jaffa, and spread truth, justice, and the American Way throughout the galaxy.

Anything you may have thought of as season nine is merely a figment of your imagination...

*Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis for episodes involving Thor, Bra'tac, and those written by Christopher Judge.

I tried watching a few episodes but they didn't do much for me. And even when the Team was all there it still didn't feel like they fit together.

Some shows have been able to replace characters and continue on. Stargate did it when Daniel left and Jonas came on board. But Jack was just irreplacable.

There were an occasional episode that I enjoyed form this past first half of season nine, but on the whole I found it very flat and drab.
