I completely forgot - I meant to post about last night's Gilmore Girls, which was called...*flip flip flip*...Twenty-One is the Loneliest Number.
I really enjoyed this episode way more than anything else this season. I laughed. I squeed. Seriously, it may have been the NyQuil.
First off, Luke fiddling with Lorelai's hair when they were on the porch. OMG. Just how absolutely cute was that? I loved the whole Luke/Lorelai dynamic in this episode. There was a spark there that's been missing lately. Although, I could have done without the whole Halloween tangent. Ew. I really didn't need to know what would be the best link sausage to pull out of Luke. Again, ew.
Also, the realization that Rory's not doing well finally hitting Richard felt right. And naturally Richard would clue into the situation before Emily. She's the best at living in her own little world. And Richard, bless him, wants to try and fix Rory. But Lorelai's right - Rory has to want it and do it herself.
I just about died with the whole "relations" sub-plot. Of course, Rory's been acting like such a brat lately, that I was absolutely giddy at the thought of having her sitting through a painfully awkward "talk." I'm pretty sure the NyQuil was in full swing by that time because I was giggling like a madwoman at the whole "special gift" conversation with the minister. "You'll have to give him a sweater!" *snort*
And awwww. Lorelai and Rory finally talk. This seemed well done as well. No, they didn't run off to Atlantic City at the end (thank goodness) and their conversation was awkward, which is as it should be right now. But you could see how they were really missing each other and wanted things to go back to the way they were, but can't yet.
Overall, really liked this episode. But sadly, the previews came. And the skinny, whiny Jess will be back. *shudders* Maybe I'll take NyQuil for that too.

In the meantime Lorelai and Luke set a wedding date
oh andthen of course there is this accident where Jesse and Dean both die so they will never ever come back again on this show

I'm actually suprised Logan hasn't dumped Rory. I've been half-expecting it - he's been looking bored lately. And Rory's been boring.
In the meantime Lorelai and Luke set a wedding date
AWWWW!!

Poor, unappealing Jess and Dean. I really don't need to see either of them too. It's funny - Lorelai has had great ex-es. Wouldn't mind if any of them came around.

i only want the wedding thing for the potential good dialogs and humor, im not really the romantic type;)
keep waiting for Chris to come around again
and more TJ, I love TJ with his "I am a craftsman, like Jesus"

Well, he's Christopher Jr. I re-watched this episode. I think what they're trying to do with Rory is make her kind of mirror what her mom went through in a very small way. She's starting to get to the point where she'll realize that the life her grandparents can give her is a very stifling one and not very fullfilling.

Knowing the writing, it'll probably have lots of humor. And lots of awwws too. And hopefully no cliffhangers. I'm sick of cliffhangers.

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised he hasn't been around.

Only it doesnt seem that Rory is realizing that, she is throwing her life away, I think Rory is just terrified of failing (her life, yale) and takes the easy way out by hanging around old people.

i think we will get a cliffhanger...somewhere at the "if anyone has any objections why .." Chris opens his mouth and ........TBC;)

I want to hit Richard, though, for not starting that talk on the porch by saying, "I'm sorry, I was absolutely wrong about the Huntsbergers and you were right." I think it would have been a much different conversation. But the way he went about it was very Richard, too. He likes to deal with these things as if they're business transactions and he forgets that his family is composed entirely of women.
I am still bothered that Lorelai keeps saying "Rory has to do it on her own," etc. etc., but it seems like Lorelai has never once mentioned to Rory that that's what she (Lorelai) is waiting for. I've thought all along that they're being equally bratty, though.
And if Jess can get Rory to start thinking that she's wasting her life, then I won't mind a (brief) reappearance.

I think I'll probably be squeeing about that for a while. Probably didn't help that Karen and I watched a bunch of 1st season eps this weekend. "AWWWW! They loved each other back then!" :D

Yeah, exactly.

I liked that she said it, because it's true that Rory has to want it for herself, but you're right about keeping Rory in the dark. I'm kind of torn about it. One the one hand, I can see Lorelai wanting Rory to figure things out on her own, but on the other hand, she could give her a clue. Although I doubt Rory would be listening to anything Lorelai had to say.
And if Jess can get Rory to start thinking that she's wasting her life, then I won't mind a (brief) reappearance.
Very brief. I'll close my eyes.

Jess? Ugh. I don't get to see the previews.

I know! He's so whipped - in a very adorable way. He always tries to act gruff, but would do just about anything for her. :)

Yeah, he was busy calling Logan a jerk. Pot? Meet kettle.

According to -- um, TV Guide or that one chick on E! or somebody, the actor once said he'd only return to the show if his character died, so hey! *crosses fingers*

I loved Luke in this ep. So freaking adorable, giving Rory his mother's necklace and not knowing what the DAR was (though I find it a little hard to believe Lorelai hasn't ranted about it in front of him).
And hot in that suit. Rawr.

Ha! "Rory, you're wasting your life! And now I must go drink and drive!"

EEEEEEEEEEEE!! I forgot about the necklace! And Rory introducing him as her future step-father! OMG. *melts*

My favourite of all time is still the one where Rory is late for an exam and a deer hits her car...
