More Family of Blood babble

This keeps turning over and over in my mind.

No, it's nothing to do with the Doctor and Joan or Martha.

I don't think I've *ever* seen the Doctor more sadistic. It's on a level that's extremely disturbing. If ever there was a moment where someone needed to stop him, as mentioned by Donna in The Runaway Bride, this was it.

What he did to the Family was beyond punishment. They needed to be destroyed, yes. As referred to in the episode, they would have become a plague, destroying the universe. However, their destruction would have been *simple.* Instead, the Doctor thinks up individual forms of castigation. He separates the Family for all of time. And even worse, he makes them aware of what happens to the others. This is inflicting pain. This is inflicting *his* pain.

Like I said, it's disturbing. I'm really not sure where they intend to end up as far as the Doctor goes this series. He's skating into anti-hero territory at this point. I guess we could have seen it coming, but still.

Fear. Loneliness. They're the big ones, Rose. Some of the most terrible acts ever committed have been inspired by them. ~ The Doctor, Fear Her
