I was writing a few lines of dialog for a S/J SG-1 fic (most times when I do that, it doesn't turn into anything) but was wondering about something for S9. Hey, I'll even *write* when I'm avoiding Christmas shopping.



I've seen the frat regs question batted around in relation to Season 9. Jack is still a superior of Sam. However, they're no longer in a direct chain of command or working at the same base. So does anyone really, really know if they would be able to date? Or would that still be taboo?

It makes a difference for how I write this. Are they in a relationship? Or are they still skirting around things?

Well, suppose I better drag my bones to the mall. *shudder*

They've not said anything outright, but it is highly intimated that they are together. Not that that helps you any, I'm sure. ;)

Yeah, there was that wink and nod when Sam was talking about not exactly being single. But I suppose you could read a lot of stuff into that. Heh heh.

Hmm. The way I read that is that now that Jack's no longer stationed on the base, it's really not an issue as far as the military is concerned. He can shag Sam or Daniel...or both at will! :D

I'm no expert, but I think the writers did manage to muddy the waters with the phone call in "Beachhead", though.

If Landry has to get Jack's permission to transfer Sam back from Area 51, then he is still in her chain-of-command, and fairly directly so - he's making decisions that affect her professional career in a big way. So on that basis, a sexual relationship would presumably still be improper.

You could probably handwave it and say that the phonecall was informal or a courtesy thing, though.

You're right - there was that phone call. I think I might need to watch it again to check out the tone, etc. But it may be just as off-limits as it was before.

This is off topic, but thought I'd update you anyway.
I asked you a few weeks ago about disneyland.

I went on Friday! Wooo!
I ended up only doing the one park for one day. But since it opened at like 8am and closed at midnight, there was more than enough time to do everything I wanted and then do a couple of things twice.

I love space mountain! Wee!
