I know I said I was basically writing off SG-1, but I caught most of "Ripple Effect" because I had read spoilers ahead of time. I wasn't going to say anything, but talking to elismor just now got my feathers all ruffled.

• Total missed opportunities with Janet. Come on. *Janet* was back and Sam was more interested in Martouf? M'kay.
  
  
• Total missed opportunities with AU SG-1 jokes. I would have smooched them if Peter DeLuise had walked through that gate. How hysterical would that have been?
  
  
• Total missed opportunities with multiple other people. Sure a room full of Sams was amusing. But I want a room full of Teal'cs, dammit. I have a theory that 30 simultaneous eyebrow raises makes a sound. Even if no one else is there.
  
  
• The whole "who's Sam with? *winknudge*" thing had me rolling my eyes. Seriously. And since Janet asked for General O'Neill, we can safely assume prego!Sam was not with Jack. I'm betting on Hammond. I could rant on about my beloved topic of "I give not a fuck about who any AU!Sams are with," but I'll spare you all.
  
  
• ETA: Oh yeah. I'm not even going to talk about evil black-wearing SG-1 because the thought of it makes me tired.

I need to go cold turkey. My feathers will only get further fluffed by continued viewing. It really is my own fault for watching, but I really wanted to see Janet! You know, the doctor that could act!

I think, perhaps, it might be a bad sign that one of the highlights of my SG1 watching these days is finding out when the "Oh shit, the List is going to explode" moment will come in each episode. For instance, every. single. friggin'. AU!Sam is married to/knocked up by/possibly snogging someone!@##!!! Had me rolling my eyes and merely imagining whether it was going to be an OMGYAY explosion or some wankfest about how they're just leading them on.

And somehow, I get the feeling this should not be the most enjoyable part of each viewing experience for me.

Totally agree. Especially since Martouf died 4 years ago, while Janet's only been dead 2 years. If Sam was going to be all choked up about someone, wouldn't it be Janet, the more recent death?

Well, I think more than that Sam seemed closer to Janet than Martouf. No Sam didn't make out with Janet, but I always saw Sam's relationship with Martouf as being something more...not sure of how to describe it. It was basically only there because of Sam's former symbiote. It was someone else's memories that tied the two together. With Janet, the relationship seemed more real. If that makes sense.

Hmm. Could be. I flipped channels during some parts. But now that you say it, black!Cameron did seem to be the one in charge rather than how "our" Cameron watches SG-1 do their own thing.
