SG-1

Buckaroo Banzai!! WHEEEEEEEEEE!! Cameron Mitchell can do no wrong now!

That is what I remember.

Then there were other things...with words. In English. It was all really hard to understand on top of a double martini. Hell, I'm completely impressed with my own typing right now.

But then my brother called and there was a 10 minute conversation about what movie he should rent. I suggested Buckaroo Banzai but he didn't think he could handle a Jeff Goldblum movie. So I suggested Farscape and sent him on his way.

While I was on the phone, Daniel hairly blathered on to some guy who was using a fire screensaver. About something. Yes. It was clearly something.

And then they weren't talking. And other people were talking.

And OMFG, the Ori are Sith Lords!!!!

Only, you know, not as good looking.

Dammit.

BWAHAHAHA!

That was probably the funniest recap of this ep I've read. And amazingly non-spoilery.

Oy poodles. I really am impressed at my spelling. I was quite tipsy.

I've been very unimpressed with Stargate so far. If it doesn't do something I think I'm going to drop it from the viewing schedule. I don't know, did they have a change of writers during seasons 8 and 9?

But it was when Jack came in at the end. That's what it was missing, that sparkling "Jack" personality. Nearly anyone else could have left and with Jack it would have retained the magic. But without Jack it has the potential of becoming an really bad second-rate show. I'm beginning to like Atlantis better than SG1.

Thank the gods they're sandwiches in-between Firefly and Battlestar.

just my opinion...

And here was I thinking it was pod-Jack. Barely recognized him. I think I actually wish he hadn't made any appearances at all in S9. He was pretty much gone last season, anyway.

(Not that I disagree that S9 is lacking in many, many ways so far.)

And they didn't have a change of writers, but the writers and directors started splitting their time between SG1 and SGA.

I was looking at him and wondering if he's been unwell. :(

Actually, yeah, I thought that too. The word "cancer" jumped into my mind. But I'm sticking with the "he'd rather be in LA" concept, because wah.

Yup, same here. :(

Thanks for the writer update. Didn't have time to check it out.

If RDA hadn't made any appearances I might have been more inclined to enjoy it. His cameo just reminded me what was missing.

**ooh, having Jack withdrawal! Can't bear the pain!**

I might have to dig into some old Jack quotes and make some new icons...

I actually liked the last two SG-1 episodes. Well, the first episode more than the second. But this one - oy. I'm not sure *I'll* be watching if the rest of the season's like that.

[identity profile] cheekygal.livejournal.com 2005-07-30 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I paid fairly close attention to the episode and I must say, your explanation makes a hell of a lot more sense.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2005-07-30 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
*snicker*

I really have no desire to watch that episode again. I think I caught the gist of it - the rest was so much blathering.

I hated that Buckaroo reference. HATED IT. I might have approved if it had been anything but the most famous line in the film. And I realized during this episode that I really dislike Landry. I wanted to like him, I tried to like him, but he just annoys me.

But then, the entire thing is starting to make me grumpy. I'm just hoping that will change when we lose Vala (PLEASE MAKE HER GO AWAY) and get Sam back.

Awww. *pats*

But come on! They *mentioned* it! You gotta love that!

And I realized during this episode that I really dislike Landry. I wanted to like him, I tried to like him, but he just annoys me.

I'm pretty indifferent towards him. I wish he was in the story less because just like Hammond, you generally only should use him when you've got some exposition to cover.

But then, the entire thing is starting to make me grumpy. I'm just hoping that will change when we lose Vala (PLEASE MAKE HER GO AWAY) and get Sam back.

I'm trying to remain optimistic. Trying. But this episode was so damn boring. It was like all the Earth-based episodes rolled into one, only without the fun of Teal'c and his donuts.

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2005-07-31 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Only three more episodes from what I understand before Vala's gone. I miss Sam so very much. That's what I'm hoping will keep me as a veirer. BUT will that be enough?

[identity profile] atomicpagan.livejournal.com 2005-07-31 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but how were they going to work in "Character is what you are in the dark"?

Mitchell could just start calling Landry, "John Smallberries", I guess.

I think the time is always right for "Home is where you wear your hat!"

[identity profile] atomicpagan.livejournal.com 2005-07-31 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Landry's *never* going to get that one. I think SG-1 should just have to wear Yoyodyne t-shirts all the time from now on.

And OMFG, the Ori are Sith Lords!!!!

UMLIMITED POWWWWWWWERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! *cackles*

Only, you know, not as good looking.

Gah!! Noooo. They're all wicked nasty. Anakin doesn't count. He was only in his Anakin-persona for a little bit before he went KFC Extra Crispy Chicken on us.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2005-07-31 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd take KFC Anakin over the Ori anyday.

Question: I was just reading Joseph Mallozzi's Blog and he makes this mention...

"Speaking of openings, I caught the fan spoof of the Stargate opening credits. Loved it. Ahem."

Was he talking of yours?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2005-08-01 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
*cough*

Yeah, I believe he was. :D
