Hmm. I probably need some S5 icons.
Okay. So. There was that.
I picked up with this episode, having watched the first 2 way back when. It was...sort of bland. I'd already been thinking that the episode had a plastic-y feel to it (not sure if it was the writing, the acting or simply the sets), and then the mini-golf ball Daleks turned up. BWAH! I wanted to shoot one into a hole. Dodging a rotating windmill, of course. Sadly the new paint jobs didn't inspire fear in me. XD
I'm not quite sure what to think. I don't know if I'm being too hard on it because of some kind of "it will never be as good as the good old days!" mentality or not. I'm really not one that's demanding a return of the RTD-era. (I'm perfectly fine that he's off pedaling his crack (and Jack Harkness) in LA.) I guess if I'm hanging on in any way, it's that I'd like to be entertained just as much?
But the plot seemed pretty silly, even for DW. And I wasn't really buying the angsting of Eleven about it - seemed like it lacked some depth.
However, I still like Amy. (More than Eleven, really.) I just wish Karen would stop with the eye-widening thing that I think is supposed to be an expression other than surprise. It irks me for some reason.
Oh, and Winston was amusing. (Not rolling on the floor variety, but still a bit entertaining.)
