This second part just kind of went all flat, didn't it? Since the angels didn't seem all that scary, a lot of this episode felt like padding. Insert chase scene here. Gunfire. Slow moving chase scene there. Yelling. I just didn't feel the tension it was going for.
Also, I was a bit irked that we saw the angels moving. The really clever thing about Blink was that the audience was a pair of eyes.
River's secrets? Honestly, I just don't care and so the teases are annoying instead of exciting. Side note: the constant innuendo gets pretty old. It's making me glad that Jack wasn't around longer than he was. Although I'm not sure which is more off-putting: Torchwood!emo!Jack or DW!innuendo!Jack. Hmm.
Anyway! Speaking of off-putting. That ending. Apologies to any Doctor/Amy shippers, but that was just plain cringe-worthy. Were they going for funny? Sexy? All I know is that both actors looked very very very uncomfortable. It veered off into caricature-land, and while I know this series is/was going for more of a fantasy/fairytale thing, just meh. How can I be expected to take the relationship dynamics and characters seriously if the show doesn't? (Which is a different thing from simply having a funny scene, if you catch the distinction.)
