I just watched the Deathly Hallows pt 1 and I think I might be traumatized from nude CGI Harry and Hermione going at it. ANIMATED FANART GONE WRONG. O_O

P.S. Hedwig's death is still way more sad than Dobby's, even though no one stopped to bury Hedwig. BECAUSE IT'S HEDWIG. Damn you, JKR.

P.P.S. Was there Harry/Hermione dancing in the book? I don't remember dancing.

P.P.P.S. CAMPING!

When the book first came out, I had a convention to go to the next day and the entire week saw most of the convention reading the book.

My roommate was curious but admitted that she had no desire to read the book so would ask me what was happening.

When Dobby died, she asked how. I, in totally proper seriousness of the situation, replied, "Dobby got shanked."

I will never be able to treat the with the gravitas it was aiming for.

And the dancingrecollectionolection, is a movie-only thing.

You have to give it to JK though, the last book, she trully belived in the whole, "Rocks fall, everyone dies" thing.

BWAH!!

Glad to know my memory isn't so spotty.

Pretty much, yeah. :D

There was no dancing in the book because bookHarry has all the emotional competency of Ten and in fact responds to Hermione's depression by throwing a blanket over her and calling it a day.

*SNORTS*

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2011-04-16 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't think there was dancing. Yeah, the way I remembered it was basically:

Hermione: *IS SAD*

Harry: *coughs and quickly moves away, pretending to be interested in the trees*

lololol your memory is basically correct. Harry is kind of delightfully incompetent with most of these things. He doesn't really know what to do with Hermione.

MovieHarry totally does, though, so I guess it makes sense in-universe.

I expect it wouldn't play as well onscreen to have Harry being all *IGNORES*. :D

BWAHAHHAHA EVEN WITH MY LACK OF INTERNET I AM ABLE TO SEE THIS TROLLING.

but yes. The naked!kissing was omg so awkward, but the dancing was the best ever.

[identity profile] jupisan.livejournal.com 2011-04-16 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
the dancing was added, really liked that part it took the tension off the dark themes since they didnt add the dean talking to the radio stuff and all.
i really like the animation for that little short story of the brothers, that was just awesome.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2011-04-16 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
The animation really was well done. It was probably the smartest way to go to tell that story!

I was spoiled right before 7.1 came out about the whole... nude... thing. I think Dan was quoted as saying how utterly bizarre it was and how the director kept telling them to be more animal about it until Emma finally attacked him and that was the clip they used.

So disturbing. Must wash brain out with fluff now.

TRAUMATIZED, I TELL YOU.

I know! :O

EEEEK!

Dancing \o/ It was a beautiful moment of ~what could have been~

also Harry thought it was a good idea to jump into a frozen lake and then sit around naked afterwards for a while and I have a lot of questions about his decision making process.

XD He's a teenager? They do weird things like sit around nude and lurk around motor homes.

I will never, ever forgive JKR for killing Hedwig. NEVER.

Was it sad? I haven't seen the movies since movie 4. I mean, does anyone react that Harry's first friend dies?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2011-04-16 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
It's almost a non-event. *sniffs*

[identity profile] nicachick007.livejournal.com 2011-04-16 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed on all points. I'm like "OH GOD NO, THAT IS COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY STOP IT STOOOOOOOOOOOP IT NOW." In the book, they were not naked. I don't understand the need to make them so. Ever.

POOR HEDWIG. When I read the book, that's where I started crying and didn't stop until the end.

And yay for camping like THE WHOLE MOVIE.....

And then the creepy CGI on top of it. O_O

HEDWIG!

*snickers* There really wasn't much else. I was kind of disappointed that the wedding wasn't longer.

[identity profile] nicachick007.livejournal.com 2011-04-16 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
It was really creepy CGI... when I watch it again on DVD, I'm totally fast forwarding that part. *shudders*

*cries some more for HEDWIG!*

Yeah, just in the woods. I was explaining to my little sister, "Yeah it was a really good movie, except the part where they're in the woods was pretty slow... well actually that was most of it..."

[identity profile] yourebrilliant.livejournal.com 2011-04-16 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol, I was really hoping they were going to condense the whole Year of Interminable Camping (not mine, great community called Sporking The Deathly Hallows. WARNING: Read only if you never want to like the book again) into a montage and move on. Then I saw the whole Part 1/Part 2 breakdown and realised they were going to film ALL OF IT.

Cause nothing says suspense like a wet tent.

AUGH. I had forgotten about the awful dancing CGI, and now you REMINDED ME.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2011-04-16 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
SORRY! :-O

[identity profile] yourebrilliant.livejournal.com 2011-04-16 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
nude CGI Harry and Hermione going at it.

Wait, what? Have to admit it's been a while since I read the book, since I violently hated it, but I don't remember that! When was this???

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2011-04-16 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
It was the part where Ron is being taunted by the locket Horcrux. The film took a few artistic licenses.

[identity profile] yourebrilliant.livejournal.com 2011-04-17 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
Ah! That makes more sense!
