BUT WILL THE DOCTOR BE HALF HUMAN?

Just when you thought Doctor Who and DW fandom couldn't get more entertaining...

A Big Screen reboot that doesn't follow the TV series.

Just...just let me...here we go!

But it's going to be directed by the guy who directed the last 4 HP movies! How could this possibly go wrong!

lol this is amazing

WILL IT BE CANON THOUGH

[identity profile] azarsuerte.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
As canon as Peter Cushing! ;-)

Every time I go to Trader Joe's and happen to be wearing a Doctor Who t-shirt, there is this one guy that works there who makes a point of telling me every single time about how Peter Cushing is his favourite Doctor. And I'm always like, "My, you are special, aren't you?" So that's, like, one person who gives a shit about those movies. I'm pretty sure there are no others.

It's the 'stache, man!

Heh. Never assume. A friend of a friend of mine insists he's canon (mainly to annoy said mutual friend, but also because he apparently loves the movies). I have another friend who cosplayed Cushing for Gally last year, but mainly as a joke. *g*

I found them moderately enjoyable...in a "OMG they did WHAT? LOL!" sort of way. ;-) It's an experience worth having once, so at least you can understand what people are cringing about. *g*

But yeah...I think most of the fandom would probably prefer to pretend they just don't exist. And I don't blame them.

When are they set in the Whovian timeline?

[identity profile] azarsuerte.livejournal.com 2011-11-15 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. They're not. They're basically big screen remakes of the first two Dalek storylines, only with some WEIRD changes made. (Susan is wee, and Barbara is her big sister instead of her teacher, just to name a couple.)

Hence why my friend's friend's insistence that Cushing is canon is mostly to mess with him. ;-)

(Although I do have another friend who theorized that Ten II turns into Cushing when he gets old. Again, mostly as a joke/to mess with my other friend's head. ;-))

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
.....WHAT IF IT STARTS AT ONE AGAIN :O

it sounds kind of like the Star Trek reboot. *pets all the fanboys preemptively*
