I don't understand the BBC. Why would they not air the Christmas Confidential when it's already been made? Seems like a very odd thing to do. (Not that I care about watching it. Just general WTF-ery.)
Yep. I'm still weirded out when fandom and PTB cross divides. I much prefer it when everyone stays in their separate bubbles. Like this tweet which relates to Sherlock fandom's theory about the words "the" and "my" and why it means John and Sherlock share a bedroom FOR REALS.
Related to the above, wasn't there something about a single word in DW fandom at one time? That's ringing some bells, but I can't remember what it was about.

lol fandom is so embarassing. I'm glad it's just Moffat with a Twitter tbh, I am less concerned about what he sees. Community did an episode once that had a riff on a specific shippy fanvideo and while it was hilarious to me because I'm sort of one-degree removed from the fandom (and I didn't know it was a specific fanvideo until I got on lj afterwards) I feel like I would've been MORTIFIED if I was the person who made it.
Community by its very design has to be hyperaware of its fandom and fandom at large, which... I mean, it's part of what makes the show run, so in that sense I'm okay with it. On the other hand, DNW to be part of a fandom that the cast and crew are so aware of. Like, they literally know about the LJ comm, and one of the actresses even did an interview for someone on LJ. THAT IS TOO MUCH FOR ME. I prefer to enjoy the show at a safe distance.
Haha, someone asked me for my top 5 least favourite ships, so it's locked because most of them are pretty popular and it's potentially quite wanky. But the important thing is Jeff/Annie was #1! lol
Okay, now I am curious to know what your other least favorite 'ships are. Because I'm nosy like that, even though I only know you from this journal. *facepalm*

haha. I know the person who made the specific fanvid. She wasn't mortified and she kind of knew it was coming because Dan Harmon tweeted her before the show aired to make it clear that he wasn't mocking her.
OH! The other day while I was volunteering, I was reading a book about copyright law that refrenced lots of fanfiction*. Like, there was a footnote about whofic.com. And direct links to fanfiction.net stories. And a serious explanation about the origin of the word "slash".
I know this is stuff creators need to know about to protect their copyright but do not want. Fans can get hella demanding, and it's just better when everything is, like, an open secret. I guess.
I am done with Christmas shopping! Yay! But only because I'm too poor to buy many Christmas presents. Boo.

I wonder if it was partially filmed but not edited (they were still filming the Xmas special when the cancellation was announced). If they had raw footage, but hadn't done music or finished all the interviews, etc., I can almost understand it. Almost. (Which makes me feel sad seeing them in the Proclaimers video that was done at the end of DT's era.)
Crossing the streams doesn't bother me as much with Moffat. He's been a part of fandom and he knows what he's getting when he engages.
