1. Eggnog or Hot Chocolate?
Soynog! I can't have milk, but discovered that Silk Nog actually tastes really good. I can't stand regular soy milk, so I was really surprised.
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
What? People actually get unwrapped presents? (However if this question is asking what Santa personally does, he probably doesn't bother. Just tosses a gift card to Mrs. Klaus and naps in front of the TV.)
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
I have white lights on my tree and colored lights in my window.
4. Do you hang mistletoe?
Nope. I'm not sure I could buy mistletoe even if I wanted it. I never see it in stores.
5. When do you put your decorations up?
Around the first of December.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish?
Often we'll have a standing rib roast on Christmas. MMMMMMMMMMMM. ROAST BEAST.
7. Favorite holiday memory as a child?
Laying under the tree to look up at the lights and tinsel while Christmas music was on the stereo. I did that a lot - it was so shiny! :)
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
I don't remember ever believing in Santa. He was always talked of like a fairy tale character. It was the same as the Tooth Fairy - my parents did the whole money under the pillow thing, but the Tooth Fairy wasn't really portrayed as real. It was a strange sort of dichotomy that worked perfectly well in my kid brain.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
NO, BECAUSE MY FAMILY NEVER LETS ME.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
Just pull it out of the box, stick it together and plug it in. INSTA TREE. (I did the live tree thing a few times years ago, but it's just so much work. Plus in my current place there really isn't a good place for a full sized tree.)
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
I FEAR THAT ONE DAY IT WILL SNOW AND IT WILL BE THE END OF ALL THINGS. I MEAN, IT'S SUPPOSED TO GET DOWN TO FREEZING TONIGHT, AND IF A CLOUD PASSED BY... OMG.
12. Can you ice skate?
I used to. It's been years. I don't really miss it.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
One year I took my family to Disneyland on Christmas Day. We had so much fun!
14. What’s the most important thing about the holidays for you?
Family and friends. And soynog.
15. What is your favorite holiday dessert?
I'm not a huge sweets person, but I really do like Russian Tea Cakes. Also, it doesn't seem like it can officially be Christmas without a piece of See's candy.
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
I don't have extremely specific traditions. Driving around to look at lights is fun. Decorating. Oh wait! Every year my friend and I get together and do Christmas baking! We've done it for years! (Missing a year here and there when it doesn't work out.)
17. What tops your tree?
Nothing! It's nude as the day it was born!
18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving?
Giving! I have way more fun picking out gifts than anything.
19. Candy Canes?
Sure.
20. Favorite Christmas show?
There are several I love watching every year - all those Rankin/Bass shows will bring back the nostalgic memories. A Christmas Story is fun too.
21. Saddest Christmas song?
"I'll Be Home For Christmas"
22. What is your favorite Christmas song?
There are a lot of songs I love, but "O Holy Night" can make me the most nostalgic. It reminds me of Christmas Eve service in a church that's dim and too warm and falling asleep against my mom's arm. Plus it's just really pretty.

Also, where does one find Soynog? My mom is recently since last Christmas diagnosed with Lactose Intolerance (sort of) so she's not drinking dairy anymore, but eggnog is her FAVORITE. Is soynog like a specialty thing they only have at like Trader Joe's or do they sell it at just regular stores like Albertson's? I'd love to get her some!

I see it everywhere - Target, Albertsons (where I got my current carton.) It looks like this:

It's thinner than regular eggnog, but I don't mind that a bit.
