lol I've seen it used so many times on Tumblr ngl. Also YOU DIDN'T CALL IT SEXIST WHEN SHERLOCK SAVED JOHN'S LIFE. Gosh Tumblr what could possibly be the difference, I wonder?
Anyway I also checked "it can depend on the situation" because I think in a show like Doctor Who or whatever where you have a monster-of-the-week theme and you have the guy save the girl sometimes and the girl save the guy sometimes that's not so bad. When a one-off plot culminates in "dude saves girl", no thanks.

*nods* In DW it's a given that everyone will need saving from a blob monster at some point. With Sherlock they simply didn't need to go down that road. At ALL. It certainly didn't happen in the book.
Some people are being spectacularly thick about it, it must be said.
Yeah, pretty much. And lol he really went out of his way to make EVERYTHING in that scene laden with awful cultural baggage and just blech, I don't know why someone would bother defending it.
Unless the defense is choosing to believe it was a dream sequence or whatever because lol it is basically.
