Neat!

The Transit of Venus is happening right now! The last time for more than 100 years! You can watch it live from a few different sources here:

Probably the best bit is the last linked video currently has scientists geeking out at each other over Skype. XD

Thanks for the reminder, I'd totally forgotten! =)

Is it too nerdy to be watching multiple feeds at once? XD

I...don't think it'll disappear from the night sky? I have no idea though. XD

I wouldn't put it past the Daleks. They don't seem to give a crap.

My friends and I were all set to go look through the Astronomical Society's super telescopes in the park, but it rained! So we all ended up watching online... Still cool.

What a shame!

Cool. I had forgotten about it and with the cloud cover here I'm sure there are many amateur astronomers that are happy to have the video feed.

And for people who happened to be on the wrong side of the planet during the 6 hours. I love how interconnected the world is. :)

i love all things astronomy--so forever devastated that it's been overcast today the whole day. but thanks for the links... i’ll probably see more there than in real life anyway...

That's a bummer!

No clouds here (well, when the sun was up), but I don't have any equipment to watch it anyway.

Dood. Your mood may be nerdy, but my first thought when I read your first sentence? "Ooh, is there a new Sherlock ep available???" (But, seriously, doesn't "The Transit of Venus" sound like an awesome ep title?) (And, yes, I have now watched all the "new" Sherlock eps and love the show.) (I know, I know. I tried to be all snooty and totally failed. :P)

Resistance to the adorableness is futile!

MV's right, you should read ALL THE FIC. A lot of it is really, really good.

(I am reading The Violet Hour, MV. It's lovely.)

Edited for typing fail.

(He also has an adorable partner (Amanda Abbington) who trolls tumblr and twitter, and posts pictures of otters and hedgehogs. In short, she's awesome.)
