I’m kind of curious if they consider “Sherlock: A Scandal in Belgravia” to be all three episodes or… Maybe not. I don’t know why in the hell they wouldn’t submit Reichenbach Fall for acting submissions though. Other than to soothe Moffat’s massive ego again? BAH. It was a fairly horrible ep.

The only reason I can think of as to why ASIB was nominated over TRF is because award shows LOVE to suck up to Moffat. Because ASIB was not a good episode. Like even outside of my problems with the way Irene was adapted, the plotting was unfocused and all over the place.

I am REALLY happy that Michelle got nominated for Downton and Jared Harris got nominated for Mad Men.

I'm pressed as hell over the comedy categories though. Modern Family does NOT deserve that many nominations. Ugh. Community deserved more! I mean, at least they got one for writing, but... WHATEVEERRR

Also, I think that Aflie Allen deserved the GoT acting nomination over Peter Dinklage. Ah well.

I totally agree.

That's so fantastic!

And 30 Rock, which I like well enough is pretty old. The Comedy category often confuses me.

Also, I think that Aflie Allen deserved the GoT acting nomination over Peter Dinklage. Ah well.

I don't know who that is... Oh, Theon. Honestly, most the time I didn't even remember he existed until he was actually on the screen in front of me.

lol Comedy is the only category I ever care about and every year it's just a fountain of butthurt for the day or two before I remember "oh right LOL it's the fucking Emmys who gives a shit".

[identity profile] fauxkaren.livejournal.com 2012-07-19 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I was really hopeful this year that Community might get a best comedy nomination because it had so many stand out episodes in season 3.

But no.

Instead I am filled with disappointment.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_thirty2flavors/ 2012-07-19 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
At least it got Critic's Choice for outstanding comedy I guess?

[identity profile] fauxkaren.livejournal.com 2012-07-19 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe the Golden Globes will care about Community this year? HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL!

At least the Emmys recognized the brilliance that was Remedial Chaos Theory and gave it a writing nomination. But really it should have been up there for best series.

I'm very happy that Michelle Dockery got nominated but I'm confused about how Downton has swept the nominations. The second season wasn't even that good, and there are a LOT of actors who are doing better jobs on better shows than those Downton dudes.

I also find it strange that the Sherlock nomination didn't go to Reichenbach, but who knows how those things even work :/

Awards are funny things - I think a lot of times people vote based on everything that's come before when they should only be looking at one year of work.

I also find it strange that the Sherlock nomination didn't go to Reichenbach, but who knows how those things even work :/

I think it's up to the production company to submit material? AND GUESS WHOSE EPISODE WAS SUBMITTED.

I think the way it works is the show has to pick an episode to submit. So that's probably why they ended up with Scandal in Belgravia. But ick, that's the worst episode of the season. Oh well. I still want it to win.

LOL at the support actor comedy category. Modern Family much?

I really need to start watching Downton Abbey.

UGH. I feel bad for the actors. They're getting hosed by politics.

I really need to start watching Downton Abbey.

You should! It's a lot of fun. Plus S2's entire plot revolved around one man's penis. XD

Wait.... what? Seriously??

....I have seen zero of the nominated shows and/or actors (except for Ashley Judd in Missing).

At least I now have proof for my constant feeling of being a member in a one-person fandom.

(also, wtf are the noms for the Revenge ladies? THEY WERE INUTTERABLY AMAZING)

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2012-07-19 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Well at least the ship wars are low key and revolve around your whims? :D

This is true! Though having a ship war with yourself is sometimes disconcerting.

:D It's especially nice since the BAFTAs decided to get weird and snub them both, instead awarding Moriarty what's his name.

Even though every year I know the Emmys will nominate a bunch of terrible shows I actively hate and a collection of okay shows I think are just sort of so-so, I always seem to be surprised anew when it happens. Like, I will never stop being surprised that the Emmys STILL care about fucking Jon Cryer oh my god.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2012-07-19 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh TELL ME ABOUT IT. THAT SHOW. I DON'T KNOW WHY THAT SHOW EXISTS.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_thirty2flavors/ 2012-07-19 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
HASN'T IT BEEN ON FOR LIKE NINE YEARS? HAVEN'T YOU PATTED HIM ON THE BACK FOR SAYING SEXIST LINES ALONGSIDE CHARLIE SHEEN AND NOW ASHTON KUTCHER SUFFICIENTLY IN THE LAST LIKE 9 YEARS? JESUS CHRIST.

[identity profile] jupisan.livejournal.com 2012-07-19 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Happy for DA noms but why nominate Hugh over Dan. Dan played cripple outstandingly. Take that Bafta.
Maybe the Globes would show some DA love and Dan love in nominations.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2012-07-19 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I have no idea how they choose all the noms. Politics? Who the production company pimps out more?

[identity profile] tarzanic.livejournal.com 2012-07-20 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
All the noms make me think of OM NOM NOM. So I think we should get cookies/biscuits, write the actors/actresses/shows/etc. on them that we wish to nom(inate) and then nom them. Then we will have good noms all around. Or at least tasty ones.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2012-07-20 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
XD XD XD

[identity profile] six.livejournal.com 2012-07-20 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
omg the internet has rotted my brain. My first thought was - who's Emmy and what's she nomming? and then I clicked the link and I was like OH. (/_\)

Sherlock: A Scandal in Belgravia WHYYYYYYYYYYY. What kind of black magic are you using, Moffat ugh.

I'm totally biased because I always want Peter Dinklage to win, idec about the other nominees.

*sporfles*

Yeah, there must be some sort of deal with the devil going on. IT'S THE ONLY EXPLANATION, REALLY.
