Sherlock Stuff

Seeing gifs of that moment in Scandal when John (the person with army training) ducks and Sherlock and Irene turn into slo-mo action heroes, has made me think about my conflict when it comes to this show.

There truly is so much I dislike about this show - a big one being when Moffat throws logic out the window in favor of gimmick. (Which he does on DW all the damn time as well.) I hate it. I also hate the way he wrote Irene. And the way he wrote Molly. (She only gained a shred of dignity when written by someone else.) And their dubious stereotyping. Basically, I have Issues.

But I also love the stupid show. If I'm honest it's mostly due to Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, because damn. I genuinely believe their acting on this show is stellar. Not just "great" but the kind of stuff I'm in awe of. Yes, that good. I don't fangirl their looks (I really don't care), but I do their talent.

Also their natural chemistry together is outstanding. There again I've seen plenty of actors who have "good" chemistry together, but this is altogether something else.

I like to think I don't give away this kind of fangirling easily. Which is probably why I tend to get defensive about the show sometimes, even though I know it has its crappy bits, and even when Moffat's being a douche.

In conclusion, you stupid show. If only you were less good in some things. Then it would be easy not to care.
