Hmmm.

My last post had me wondering. I've always considered myself to be a sappy shipper, but after listing out the shows I like to watch nowadays, I'm really only "into" pairings on less than half. Guess I'm not as sappy as I thought. I honestly don't know what makes me really dig a certain pair. It's not even that I'm always really into the canon pair - BSG has canon pairs, but I'm very indifferent to them. But the pairings that I *am* into seem to line up with canon, so I'm a pretty unimaginative shipper.

Shows I'm watching these days and pairings I like (although I could watch any of these shows even without any pairings):

24 (No pairings)
Arrested Development (No pairings – how could someone be into pairings on this show? How?)
Battlestar Galactica (No pairings)
Carnivale (No pairings)
CSI (No pairings)
Gilmore Girls (Luke/Lorelai)
House (No pairings)
Lost (Charlie/Claire – only because they're so. damn. cute.)
Scrubs (No pairings)
Stargate SG-1 (Jack/Sam)
That 70s Show (Canon pairings are sweet, but I'm not really "into" them.)
The West Wing (Josh/Donna)

Hmm.

ETA: WARNING - current season of 24 spoilers in the comments.

George Michael/Maeby, man. How can you deny their twu wuv?

Dude. You have no idea the 14-year-old fanpoodles who are into George Michael/Maeby. It's scary.

You know this means there are many 14-year-old fanpoodles who secretly want their cousins, don't you?

ACK!

[identity profile] chiroho.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, so these are the ones you happen to like, not necessarily the ones you see. Makes sense.

You really don't watch that many shows for 'ship then, do you?

Isn't Tony/Michelle on 24 really cute though?? ;)

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess I really don't watch many shows for the ship. And even with the pairings I listed, the only ones that really factor into my love of the show are Josh/Donna and to a lesser extent Jack/Sam.

I didn't really care for Tony/Michelle last season, but I do like it this season. Maybe because they aren't making out in the middle of a national crisis this season... :D

[identity profile] chiroho.livejournal.com 2005-04-14 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I don't think I really watch any shows just for the 'ship - except maybe for JAG in that it was what kept me watching when the show seemed to have otherwise declined. It does add something to shows, but few are a reason for me loving it.

But Tony/Michelle are too cute - and they had to make out last season 'cause Tony was all injured, and Shelly was wreally worried, and then she had to leave him and maybe die, and he gave up his job and almost his life to save her. And ... yeah, it was a little sickening I suppose. ;)

Shelly? EWWWWW! *smites* :D

[identity profile] chiroho.livejournal.com 2005-04-14 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Shelly and Tony? That's their cutie names. And they can have kids Debbie, Judy, Larry, and Candy.

:D

Shut up shut up shut up!

LALALALALALALALALA!

[identity profile] chiroho.livejournal.com 2005-04-14 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
And Bobby and Frankie and Johnnie and Freddie and Chrissie and Missy and Charlie and ....

Boy that's a lotta kids. They must be regular machines! ;)

24 (No pairings)

You didn't like Tony/Michelle last season?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2005-04-14 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
I was pretty indifferent with Tony/Michelle. The only thing I didn't really like about it was the ducking into corners to make out during all the crap that was going down.

But I am warming up to them this season - they're far more interesting.

[identity profile] cheapevilgirl.livejournal.com 2005-04-14 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
I was so angry that Michelle left him. But I have to say I'm loving the angst.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2005-04-14 01:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I was really surprised that she left him since we didn't get to see all that, but I could picture it all happening. I could see Tony drawing into himself and Michelle getting so frustrated that she finally leaves. But now, even though I could go either way, it would be nice to see Tony able to chase away his demons and get Michelle back!

[identity profile] cheapevilgirl.livejournal.com 2005-04-14 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I was so happy when she showed back up on 24. I"m such an angst whore.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2005-04-14 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I was shocked! But in a good way - I love it when this show surprises me!

[identity profile] cheapevilgirl.livejournal.com 2005-04-15 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I wasn't that shocked when Greg from Knots Landing (I can't seem to remember his name) said she has worked at CTU before. I knew it had to be Michelle. But when Tony showed up I was kind of shocked.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2005-04-15 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah - completely floored by Tony too. It's so funny, I usually watch this show with a group of friends. There was a lot of "OMG, TONY!! YES!!" when he showed up to save Jack. :D

[identity profile] cheapevilgirl.livejournal.com 2005-04-16 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
I SQUEED very loudly.
