You may be a fic snob.

If you wake up each day, excited to read mailing lists to hunt down new badfic, you may be a fic snob.

If you die a little inside each time the hero is reduced to reciting poetry, outside of the Shakespeare fandom, you may be a fic snob.

If you get grossed out anytime someone gets publicly horny over some "hawt pr0n," you may be a fic snob.

If you have to restrain yourself from *really* doing what the author wants when you see a plea for feedback, you may be a fic snob.

If you start becoming convinced that badfic authors are only writing in order to torment you and you alone, you may be a fic snob.

If you scream in terror at the very mention of the word "songfic," you may be a fic snob.

And finally...

If you wince anytime someone mentions the word "beagles," you may be a fic snob.

There are probably more, but the coffee hasn't fully kicked in yet.

As I was telling someone a while back, [livejournal.com profile] nandamai x [livejournal.com profile] mrv3000 + Sundays online = trouble. (With a capital T that rhymes with P that stands for Pool.)

*May* be a fic snob. May. ;)

(And it all stems from a long discussion this morning about characterizations and what makes a "good" fic and how to some as long at it's "hot" it's good, etc. etc. etc.)

Well, considering the rest of them apply to me as well...

I already knew I was a fic snob right around the time I stopped enjoying the ones everyone else seemed to think were "HOTT" or "omg, so cute and romantic!" or even, "omg the charectezation! jack iz so hott!"

Yeah. *sigh* That was sorta how it all started - we were musing about fic recs where someone would say "her/his/its Jack/Sam/Teal'c/Daniel/Thor is PERFECT" but when you get there, you do a lot of blinking. Not to even mention the recs that are just because it's hot or oh so very romantic.
