This episode seemed kinda off to me. Like [livejournal.com profile] nandamai said last night, I think we missed an episode again. Of course, nanda was talking about Rory's new hair style, but we won't go into nanda's hair obsession. But I did feel a gap. Lorelai and Emily are now all chummy again? Quickest spat ever. And suddenly Rory is queen of the newsroom? Someone hit the fast-forward button but didn't tell us.

Rory, Rory, Rory. This episode was the first time I actually felt irked at her. She's getting whiny - maybe Logan *is* a bad influence on her. Although, he's seeming very mature compared to her these days. I am glad they took her down a bit with Logandad saying she wasn't cut out for the news business. I think most people at her age do a lot of flailing about career choice and adult life, and we hadn't really seen any of that yet. And I think he was right - she's too timid and only does what she's told. He *did* do her a favor.

Luke, Luke, Luke. I'm cringing in anticipation of the surprise house. I think I've said it all before, but Lorelai? Not so good with sudden change. The problem is they're not really talking about their relationship. Lorelai thinks they're doing something fun and Luke hears wedding bells. She's not ready to marry Luke, otherwise she would have told him about the pregnancy scare. And Lorelai? You might want to take an actual pregnancy test instead of relying on junk food!

And the ending? I guess we're to assume that "Mom, you have to pick me up" meant that Rory got picked up by the cops for trying to/actually stealing a boat? Not sure. It was a weird place to end. But if they do show us the other end of that horse, I'm sure Lorelai will blame Logan.

I watched the preview for next week and (in case you don't want to be spoiled, you gotta scroll down)

Who will pop the question? *sigh* I hate summer cliffhangers. You know, it could be either Luke or Logan, but I don't think that either Rory or Lorelai would say yes. Although, it does look like Rory's in a weird place. She might do something stupid.

But the surprise house will come up! Wah! Am not looking forward to that.

ETA: It has to be Luke that asks, right? I mean, just a couple of weeks ago, Logan had problems saying the word "girlfriend." Yeah, it's gotta be Luke since he has the surprise house now.

I havent seen any previews, but i think its time for some loralei/ luke dwama about now (after a few eps of fluf) so i suspect a no from loralei's part and Luke moving in with Kirk or something;)

i agree with the Rory being little miss perfect i mean nobody is *that* good and as to Logan, he might be a nice guy but there is something about him

btw i have seen every ep but i never noticed the window between luke's and tyler's place

BWAH! That would be funny. :D

Yeah, they weren't very good for each other.

I can't remember if it was this season or last season that they put it in, but they don't show it very much.

IIRC, that window has been there as long as the Taylor's place has been, but they rarely show it.

wow how could i never notice that huge window;)

And the theme of today's episode is...

not communicating!

It seems that almost every scene had something to do with a miscommunication or just a lack of it. Rory thought she was doing fine at work. Lorelai thought Luke doesn't want to be a dad. Sookie thinks Jackson should make a life-altering decision on the spur of the moment and has him sterilized! Luke is confused on many levels.

*sigh*

I have a pet theory about Logan's dad. Actually, it's Hubby's theory, but we share. IMHO, he may have gotten Rory into the internship for the very purpose of convincing her that she should give up on journalism and become an appropriate trophy wife for Logan. Not that he cares, but because of his wife's influence. After all, Rory is blue-blooded and debutaunted and all that. IMHO again the only real objection she had to Rory was that she wanted a career. At this point, Miss Gilmore is ripe to be shaped into the image of Emily.

And poor Luke is going to pop the question, and poor Lorelai is going to freak out.

Ooooo. Great insight!

You know, I was kinda getting that vibe myself. It wouldn't surprise me at all. Maybe it *is* Logan that proposes!

I know. Poor, poor Luke. :(

I wasn't, actually. :) I was talking about happy-friendly Friday night dinner in teaser. But of course I was cryptic.

Preview made me say OY very loudly.

Uh huh. Sure you weren't talking about the hair. *pats*
