Apparently I'm spamming samandjack! And I didn't even have to lift a finger! Go me!

So I head over to the list's web site - the only way I ever access that group and I see a message from, um, me. Cool! Apparently I'm able to multi-task and not even know it!

And best of all? It was one of those annoying "test" messages! Rock on!

So, I get an email from emry demanding to know what I've done now and she offers up this comforting message:

"I've only ever seen that 'cczsumvjg' with smut mail...."

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Internet gremlins are sending out smut mail for me! Little did said internet gremlins know that as long as smut contains the words 'Sam' and 'Jack', it is welcome with open arms on that list.

Well, my passwords for absolutely everything have been changed. Did a virus scan but found nothing, which is what I figured. I still don't see how a virus could have done that considering that I don't have samandjack anywhere in my address book. Heck, I don't even get direct emails from that group.

It's a mystery and I'm fresh out of clues.

I know. It sucks. Why people have the time to design this crap to screw up everyone's lives and emails and computers is beyond me. If they have the skill to F up the entire planet's emails in a matter of hours, put that skill to good use through regular channels. Turn away from the dark side, evil hackers!!!

It's like that virus whose name I have mercifully forgotten that took all the email addresses on infected computers, replicated itself, and sent out emails pretending to be from all of those people. It doesn't necessarily mean it's on *your* computer. It's got hold of my nanda@diary-x.com address, which I have never once used for outgoing mail, and which is nowhere on my hard drive. I've been getting mail transmission failure notices for emails I didn't send.

Of course, a full Norton sweep can't hurt. :)
