I never thought I'd be wondering why the hell Lorelai is even with Luke, but this episode had me doing just that. She just doesn't deserve the crap that Luke's dishing out. I don't care what he's going through, she shouldn't have been treated like that. Right now she's the one giving in the relationship and Luke's doing all the taking. And I think Lorelai's starting to realize that as well. It all makes me sad for them.

Okay, change of plans. It's no longer lukelorelai4eva! Lorelai should just join Logan's harem. You know, the guy who's actually considerate?

I'm trying not to become anti-Luke, but lately (and especially this episode) it's been way too hard to keep liking him.

He's become completely self-absorbed. And when they talked about it last night, I was thinking that he admited it and this would be the start of him changing his ways. But then at the end of the episode he was back to shutting her out and thinking only of himself. RAWR!

Yes, maybe Lorelai should have smacked him for it at the end. Maybe. But I think that Luke has to want to include her rather than her forcing it. And it's *clear* he doesn't want her to be involved with April.

God, he's being such a self-centered ass. RAWR! Their first Valentine's Day after becoming engaged and he was going to blow it off? If Jason or Christopher or Max had done that, she would have kicked him to the curb. My God, Max treated her better than Luke and she broke off that engagement.

Okay, now I'm worked up to the point where I *really* want Lorelai to dump Luke's ass. :D

Grr! What's so hard about saying "why don't you come by while she's here" or something. I think there could be lots of drama by letting Lorelai and April interact. Considering that Luke will be moving in with Lorelai when they get married, somoene with a brain and a heart would let them spend some time together.

Sounds like season 6 isn't getting any better in the second half. I saw the Godmother ep last night and felt very meh about that one.
And now you're telling me it's getting worse?
What happened to the terminally cute Luke & Lorelai of season 5?!?

Grumpy as hell, but he's the =nice= guy. The guy that makes you go "I wish I knew a Luke. I'd marry him and have his babies in a heartbeat, even when I hate babies.."

I think they're going about this "conflict" completely the wrong way. Yeah, they've said that a non-drama relationship is boring, but the stuff they're doing to the characters to create the conflict, specifically Luke at the moment, is just annoying.

And IMNSHO they started with the whole Rory dropping out of Yale and Lorelai going breserk adn not talking to Rory anymore thing.
Yes, Lorelai would've been upset for a little while, but she of all people should understand that trying to force her to go back would be the wrong thing to do. And she should realise that, yes, she raised a very smart girl, who was alwasy very focussed, but now she's lost her way a bit and needs time to find it again. And that it would be much better to support Rory than do the whole "I'm not talking to you until you get your ass back into Yale"

So first they have Lorelai go completely out of character, and later they're doing the same to Luke?
And all for the sake of "creating conflict" because it's "necessary"?
I agree that a relationship is much more interesting when stuff happens. But I'm convinced that there's a better way to go about that than your average soap or the path they're following here..

I'm actually sad to say that I'm with ya on this. Luke is being a big time idiot not realizing how much he's hurting her. Why do I have a feeling he's not going to get a clue-by-four before she walks away for good? :(

I have no idea why they're writing Luke this way. In the past, my understanding of the character was that he had a gruff exterior, but underneath was very aware and sensitive to things around him, especially when it came to Lorelai. Right now he's not the same man who kept a scrap of paper she wrote on when they first met all those years ago.

(And AWW! Is that a Jack/Chloe icon? My favorite not-a-pair!!)

You've never seen Grey's Anatomy? McDreamy is the name of a doctor on that show. He dated the main character last year. Then he went back to his wife. Even though he's in his own words still in love with Merdieth.
