I have finally figured out the theme for S6 Gilmore Girls.

This is the year where everyone who is in a relationship doesn't talk to the other person in the relationship. Well, nothing beyond "how's the weather?" at least. And for a show like Gilmore Girls where they talk at about five hundred words a second, that's an amazing feat.
  • Luke & Lorelai - Not talking. Luke's doing his own thing, excluding Lorelai from April, and Lorelai can't seem to tell Luke how much that's hurting her.

  • Logan & Rory - Not talking. I may be a bit premature on this one - they may end up talking it out. I *can* see both sides of this and think they can work through it, but at the moment the not talking is making Rory move back in with Paris.

  • Zack & Lane - NOT TALKING. No, they just suddenly decide to get married. o_O Um, yeah. M'kay. Wow.
Is it bad that I'm starting to get into the Christopher/Lorelai camp? When they were sitting there watching Rory, I kept thinking how really good they were together. They really click. Around him she can pretty much be herself unlike Luke where often she has to tip-toe around or make excuses for him.

I suppose Luke is just being himself, which really makes me question them being together. I guess what I thought was really sweet about the pairing was the fact that Luke, this grumpy, gruff guy, always had the biggest crush on Lorelai. It *was* cute. But it really seems that Lorelai has had to make too many sacrifices and has lost too much of herself with him, I'm sorry to say.

It's not that Luke did anything bad last night and they may yet win me back. I think this was just brought on by seeing Lorelai and Christopher together and the closeness between them that is really lacking between her and Luke. If only Chris didn't now have the demon-spawn from hell. And wow - can Gigi really be 3? I guess it has been that long.

I think they are pushing Chris for now, because I had pretty much that thought at that same moment. I think Lorelei is sabotaging the relationship. I think if she were with Chris, she'd find a way to do the same things she's doing to Luke. It's a bad pattern for her.

Hmm. I hadn't thought about that - you may be right. I wonder if Chris would be able to spot the Lorelai sabotage better than Luke.

My only reservation about Christpher is the deal breaker. He buggered off for sixteen years. He wasn't THERE. He didn't show an active interest in his daughter, even after he 'came back' and got 'responsible'. I don't like him, I don't want him near Lorelai, no matter how much they 'click'.

He's a horrible human being who's made no real active move to establish himself in his daughter's life. (Yes, personal issues carry over.) So no, I hate him with a fire of a thousand suns and would rather see him made into a bloody smear on the pavement.

I had liked the idea of Lorelai and Christopher at one time, but then he went off and left poor Lorelai in the lurch. Yeah, sure, fine it was 'cause his gf was preggers, but I mean, c'mon, the woman was a freak! No wonder he got demon spawn from that relationship! ;)

As for Luke...he needs a swift clue-by-four upside the head, but Lorelai's not helping things by tip-toeing. Luke's just being Luke, adorable and just that big bit of clueless. <g> I figure she's tip-toeing because she's afraid of screwing up their relationship by being honest with him about her feelings over the whole April thing. So in a misguided attempt to "save" the relationship, she's screwing herself and the relationship over by not actually being upfront. She always had been honest with Luke in the past, just because she's in a romantic relationship with him now shouldn't mean she should have stopped it. Yeah, sure he'd probably get mad and they'd yell at each other, but, and this is going on what we've seen with them before, they *always* came back to each other in the end and their friendship never seemed to suffer from the fights.

My ten cents.

Karma, baby! :D

Yup. They're both not doing any communicating.

So in a misguided attempt to "save" the relationship, she's screwing herself and the relationship over by not actually being upfront.

Yeah. You'd think she'd be a bit smarter about it.

I'm not so sure Luke is being himself or if he is Lorelai is the one that isn't being herself. Either way the writers are fraking this up big time. I used to want Chris and Lor together but after seeing her with Luke I can't see her with anyone else.

From the way I've been seeing it, it does seem to me like Luke is pretty much being himself and Lorelai isn't. And I honestly don't know if I want her and Luke together anymore after this season. :(

I want the L/L from last season back. Before this stupid long lost child storyline started.
