I'm very good at stating the obvious.

Hey! When did they get a "location" section?

And just so this post isn't a total waste - So. Cute. OMG. Doctor Who S2 spoiler pics:

*THWAP*

Overalls are hideous! You end up looking like a barrel.

But, a CUTE barrel!!

Sorry. I have an overall thing. Everyone knows you're not a barrel. And they're comfy. And, I dunno, kids-playing-ish. Or something. But cute!

I used to have a pair with a fuzzy Pooh applique on the front. They were Poohveralls. But they wore out and I was sad.

Yes, this occurred after age 30.

Oh wait...

Yes, you just stay there for a while and think about what you've done.

I should clarify: the wearing-out happened after age 30. The purchasing happened at age 27, while touring as Christopher Robin.

I did, however, wear them subsequent to the tour.

(And I wish I could stay under my desk, but the end-of-month INBOX OF DOOM doesn't go away, it just lies in wait and gets worse...)

Well...okay then.

Awwww.

And those overalls are made even moreso by the fact that they are cut off to make a skirt that barely reaches the middle of her thighs and is all raggedy at the bottom. Then she wears it over black tights, if I remember correctly from larger pictures I've seen.

I thought they'd left the hideous 80s-wear behind when it was still, y'know, the eighties.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-03-30 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess my inner-shipper should be saying things like, "it's really nice that they feel comfortable enough to wear whatever without caring what they look like," however my inner-shipper has been blinded by the hot pink shirt...

WAIT.

It's an overallSKIRT??

Come back, inner-shipper! COME BACK!

*snerks*

Yeah, that's pretty much my reaction as well.

WAIT.

It's an overallSKIRT??

In the sense of "one of those skirts which are so short they might as well just be wide belts," yes. With black tights and BROWN cowboy boots.

I swear, I'm not making this up. I've been looking all over for the picture I saw, but it's not turning up. I know it was from a tabloid scan that was posted on [livejournal.com profile] time_n_chips, where they were standing in front of the TARDIS on a windswept moor (or something), and the caption read something about Billie "checking out David's goods." (She was kind of staring at his bum.) The outfit is just hideous.

Oh dear. I had a feeling the DT/BP thing might be starting up. :P

Oh. Wow.

It made my eyes bleed the first time I saw it. I seriously hope it's due to something like the TARDIS malfunctioning and the wardrobe going kablooey, because if she actually chose to wear that...?

Oh dear. I had a feeling the DT/BP thing might be starting up. :P

Well, this was a British tabloid. They have even fewer qualms about inventing pure fiction than their American bretheren, from what I can tell.

I don't think they could dress her in anything less flattering.

Hmm. Maybe the episode takes place in the 80s!

If only. I'm pretty sure it's the one with Queen Victoria. (There's at least one photo with the two of them in it and her in that outfit.)

Sorry?

I am much more calm now. I've decided to approach the whole overall/dungeree/jumper thing with a sort of live-and-let-live attitude...

Wait, it's a JUMPER??? (In the American sense, that is. Which would look mighty silly under Nine's leather jacket.)

Oh, that's a whole different thing. I'll have to wait until I see it, 'cause sometimes that can be cute. But in this case I'm not holding out a whole lot of hope.

Actual overalls are cute and comfy, and Rose is adorable in all things comfy. Mini-length overall jumpers, not so much.

OMG. MENTAL IMAGE.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Doctor: I changed my jumper.

Rose: Um... o_O

Doctor: What?

Rose: Yeah, I'm gonna go now.

[identity profile] wiliqueen.livejournal.com 2006-03-30 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
BWAH!!!

Also, overall jumper = height of cute ONLY if one is pregnant. Which is making my overworked brain go all sorts of unfortunate places that could result in badfic if I actually had time to write...

And Richard E. Grant (who is SO VERY PERCY, it would be screamingly obvious when it was made even if I hadn't known) and Jim Broadbent and Hugh Grant (how much do I love that they even got two with the same last name?) and Joanna bloody Lumley. And Julia Sawalha (who therefore has extra reason to be squicked at the end -- at least it wasn't Jennifer Saunders!). And now I want to see JONATHAN PRYCE PLAY THE MASTER FOR REAL OMG.

Besides being a damned funny DW parody, it's a savory stew of Brit-TV-o-phile goodness!

*ahem* 'Scuze the squeeing. I'd heard about it for years, but only just got to FINALLY see it. SQUEEEE

*giggle* And yes, it's basically some kind of overall-jumper thing. What's worse is that it looks like someone deliberately CUT OFF THE LEGS of a pair of overalls to make this monstrosity.

*shudders*

Actual overalls are cute and comfy, and Rose is adorable in all things comfy. Mini-length overall jumpers, not so much.

Yes. She should stick to jeans and t-shirts and possibly hoodies, seriously. I really like the black pants and light blue jacket/long-sleeved zip shirt she's wearing for episode one of the new season.
