So my brother's been catching up on Doctor Who and I find this email from him this morning. Nope, not related. At. All.

Okokok, I've got a great idea for a show... wait... how many years has The X-Files been off the air? No matter. Anyway we'll have these blokes wander around England, investigating paranormal and bizarre events, protecting the unwitting public...on second thought bugger the paranormal! We'll just set it in the world of Doctor Who, that way we can explain anything by saying it was an alien! As an added bonus we can set up the backstory and plug the new show on something that already has a following!! We'll call it Red Dalek. No... just saying "Dalek" makes my ears bleed. We need a name that tells people that we take ourselves more seriously than H.R. Pufnstuf *shudder* and less seriously than Millennium *shudder*. I have it! Torchwood! Brilliant!

But...the Torchwood references have been so subtle! ;)
