Is it time to go yet?

  1. Am still fangirling Jacob's Doctor Who Father's Day review. Like so, so much. Deep thinky thoughts! You can't cut yourself off from that much of yourself -- him or her either -- and expect to have a working connection to the infinite. Right? ... And the TARDIS connects everything, and the key connects you to the TARDIS.

  2. Am thinking I may need some sort of Mexican food today, but not sure what. Is it bad that I don't really know what Cinco de Mayo is all about? Other than it's *not* Mexico's independence day.

  3. Haven't been sleeping well for the last few weeks and am exhausted. I just want to sleep all weekend.

  4. Going to Disneyland next week with my little "nephew" and "niece." Cannot wait. It's all they've been talking about for the last couple of months. SO. CUTE. Especially since the little girl is *really* into princesses. Awww.

  5. No, really. zzzzzzzzzzzz.

  6. ETA: U.S. DW viewers are in for a treat tonight. The Empty Child scared the HELL out of me. I defy anyone not to be creeped out at the least. Plus, Captain Jack! ETA2: Whoops - kinda quoted some lines in here. Not really spoilery, but yeah. Warning.

Tonight, I'm having a Mexican food dance, dance I say. Hubby's company catered in Frontera grill and he apparently is bringing home a big leftover tray. So mmmmm fajitas.

So, can I just watch tonight's DW ep w/o going to back to the previously mentioned 3 behind?

That sounds FABULOUS!

Yeah, I think you easily could. I can't think of anything that you need to know from prior eps on this one.

Hope not, cuz I didn't either. I'm actually really surprised Google didn't do one of their customized logos with a link for it. Fortunatley, we have Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinco_de_mayo

Also? EMPHATIC seconding re: "The Empty Child." Flat-out BRILLIANT.

Ah ha! Victory over the French!

Are you my mummy? *shudder*

HA! Best line! "What am I supposed to do with a ringing phone?!"

I don't think this is a spoiler but I will leave space in case people on your flist are spoiler free for DW as it airs in the US, for I do not wish for them to smite me.

The Empty Child scared the CRAP out of me. Certain friends of mine knew this, and so took to calling my mobile phone and leaving messages on my voicemail saying "are you my mummy?" *shudders* Wee children are creepy, yes.

Ooooh! Sick friends! BWAH!

Actually, my brother (who is 31 and *not* the type to be easily scared) called me up after he watched it and was like, "Thanks a lot! Now I won't be able to sleep tonight!" :D

OMG.

I am SO not watching Empty Child again. Ev. Er.

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee K9!!!!!

AAck! Watched The Empty Child Sat. night and I was creeped out, I WUZ! Eeek. To extent that I made lame excuses for not going to bed until hubby did b/c i did not want to sleep alone. Eeek! Just a show. But I enjoyed the ep quite a lot. Good times. Sux that it's a 2-parter. Am impatient.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-05-08 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I can still remember watching that for the first time. EEP! It was in the heat of summer, when you can never completely cool down, and it made me all prickly. :D

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-05-08 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Also, The Doctor Dances (the next part) was just as creepy - so beware! :D

*snort*

I misread deep thinky thoughts as 'deep kinky thoughts'

Fathers Day was a great episode, plot and costume wise! All that big hair and peach taffetta dresses must have made the insurance company nervous!
(I bet there were large No Smoking signs everywhere!)

Empty Child - the first Doctor Who episode *ever* to give me the creeps!

Are you my mummy?

Yeah, no kidding!

Empty Child - the first Doctor Who episode *ever* to give me the creeps

And the 2nd part is just as good!

The Empty Child seriously creeped me out, but I still can't wait for the second part tomorrow night. But I was quite glad that the rain-delayed NASCAR race gave me a good excuse to stay up till after midnight so that racing could exorcise the creepy before I actually had to try to sleep (alone in my apartment, no less, since my roommates had all run away).

And I just finished the TWoP recap of Father's Day and am having to sternly remind myself not to get teary-eyed at work. Cause that ep was the first television thing in a good while to make me cry - not just get choked up, which isn't entirely uncommon with me, but full-fledged tears running down my cheeks. It was such a fantastic episode. So fantastic I'm even vaguely tempted to watch again sometime, despite how sad it was.

Damn, I still don't have a Doctor Who icon! It's on the list, I'm gonna go cap-hunting from that site you linked me to, I just haven't quite gotten there yet.

This was a BAD one to watch alone. Good thing you had the racing!

Yeah, I loved that ep. It's the perfect thing if you're in the mood for a good cry. And I still love that this review of it pointed out things that I never would have thought of.

Hehe yes indeed. And since I'm probably safe in assuming that the second part will be just as creepy, maybe I should start hoping for another rain delay in tomorrow night's race so I have more things to watch ... except that would be just too damn many rain delays in too many weeks, so maybe not.

Total agreement about the recap. The same recapper did the second half of Galactica season 2, and did a really good job.

*flees from the whip* I'll make one! Honest! It's not my fault - my internet sucks and had died in most of the time I had to make icons Saturday, so I was working only off of stuff I already had!

Oh yeah, very creepy. :D Of course, you always have the story resolution to look forward to.

Yeah, I really need to read the BSG recaps.
