Lalalala

So say I want to have a T-shirt with something specific on it and can Photoshop my own graphic since it's just text. What's a good place to do something like that? CafePress? Although, it's not that I'm really interesting in selling it. I just want it as a jammie.

Might be DW-related. Shhhhhh.

ETA: Also, if I do use CafePress, anyone know what the legalities are of show quotes? No pics, just quotes. :-\

yep cafe press is great for doing that stuff. Even if you don't sell and it do it just for yourself (I did a couple of t-shirts for my self way back and they are good quality)

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I may just end up doing that then. Is it pretty easy to use?

[identity profile] debs7.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
They're pretty good and I think with quotes you'll be fine. The only thing I think you have huge problems is, is with pictures that are copyrighted.

That's what I was hoping. Nope, won't use pictures.

oh and can we see what you have in mind? I'd love to do a Doctor Who related t-shirt for myself :)

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure! I'll have to draw something up first. :)

[identity profile] empty-ambition.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah its really easy. I love it.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, think I'm going to need to do this. :)

I do it all the time and you dont have to sell to public they let you just sell to yourself. Quite brilliant really. I am designing a DW related license plate holder at the moment. Hehe.

Of course I just got home since my CAR WOULDNT START!!! so I dont know if it deserves it. My brother had to come to my job and jump start it. It was awful lol.

zazzle.com is where I've been making t-shirts for myself. It's easy to upload graphics, and they have a bigger selection of shirt styles, colors and sizes than Cafe Press.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooooooh! I may email you about this.

[identity profile] spiral24.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I just ordered a shirt from zazzle this morning. They are the best I've found -- very reasonable and very speedy. They also don't seem to care about copyrighted stuff :)

I believe you can get transfer paper that will run through a printer, so you could then put it on whatever you'd want. Not sure where'd you could get it - maybe a Michaels or some other craft store? It'd probably be cheaper overall than CafePress (plus I've heard bad things about their shirt quality).

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I wonder how well that transfer paper would hold up through washings...

I haven't actually gotten a shirt from CafePress but have sent to others. I should ask them about the quality.

[identity profile] elismor.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I have done this. They do not wash well.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds like too much work anyway. I mean, ironing? Bah.

[identity profile] acciochocolate.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
You could always check around at local tee-shirt printing shops. Although, come to think of it, they would probably want you to do a batch or run of several. But what the heck, give some of them a call. I love me some Hanes beefy-tee. :)

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I'm going to do something online. So much easier that way...
