How reliable is The Sun? Is that a real paper or a tabloid? No clue. ETA: Am told The Sun is pretty much shit but can get things right on occasion. Hmm.

Sounds like David Tennant will only be on through S4. So he made it one more year than BP. Seriously, what *is* it about this show and people ditching it? They're so gung-ho when they sign up but quickly take off. How can I be excited about a show when actors are blazing fire trails to get off of it? That it's just some stepping-stone to stardom?
I think I give up.

That doesn't help, does it?

My sometimes right was based on the fact that they - I think it was them - spoiled me for the kiss in The Parting of The Ways. I've still not forgiven them.

The only paper less reliable than The Sun is The Star. Also known for this sort of drama.

I do agree about actors leaving the show, each series is going to end up with a new main character, there's no reliablity....

Yeah, that's probably wise.

Right. No permanence. You start getting attached to one actor, and POOF, they vanish. Whatever, man.

Personally, I don't really see David Tennant leaving anytime soon - he's too much of a fanboy. :)

Oh, lovely. Not.

Well, that's what I thought too, but, you know, actor first.

I think maybe actors in that industry are more concerned with variety of roles than their American counterparts? In interviews I've read, they all seem to harp on that. I have no idea what might cause that...maybe there are more people competing for fewer jobs in Hollywood than in London? (The BBC certainly seems to find ways to reuse just about everybody...)
*shrug* I dunno. It's weird, particularly as the TV series over there have half the episodes of a typical American series. You'd think there would be less turnover...

You know, that could have a lot to do with it. Maybe over there as an actor it is easier (and more of the mind-set) to do lots of different things. Where over here it's a lot more brutal and so actors tend to hang on to things when they've got a steady gig. Not always the case, but more often than not.

Right.

Yeah, maybe. And I think the contracts over here are for much longer periods of time.
I think also there's a much greater emphasis on theatre in the UK drama schools--and far more Brit actors appear to get their start on stage than do Americans--which may lead to more of a "variety is better than a steady gig" mentality.
