Random Monday

One general comment about Veronica Mars - did they *have* to cast all the 09er guys as looking practically the same? Half of them look like clones. Maybe that was the point, but it makes for hard viewing when you have to spend 5 minutes trying to figure out who they are again and what they did in the past. Even after watching for several episodes, I still kept mixing up Duncan with this other kid. Troy. The only guys who are distinct are Logan, Dick and Beaver. The rest are this blur.

Okay, I see what people were talking about with it being more complicated. Having watched it all in a row, I guess I'm not seeing *so* much difference in the whacked-out melodrama department from S1. Pregnant ex-girlfriends, more murder accusations, etc. The only thing that really annoys me right now is how they're writing Lamb. I mean, COME ON. Seriously - no one's that cartoony evil. Wish they would tone him down a bit and I'd be fine.

On Doctor Who, I almost get to a point where I think that either I need to completely abandon the future show and just live in a pretend two-series world, or stop with the melodrama and watch the new stuff. But then I think, naaah. Where's the fun in that?

[livejournal.com profile] lyssie posted about Red Dwarf which I haven't watched since probably high school/college. YouTubed it. If you haven't seen it, why the hell not?

Wait for it!

He stays a jerk, but he actually does the right thing sometimes.

Yeah, he sorta does some of the time. Wish he wasn't so mwahahaha the rest of the time.

That's funny that you should mention mixing up Duncan. In season 1 the producers were afraid that audiences would mix up Duncan and Logan so they only let Duncan wear blue and only dressed Logan in green to help. :D

I think the good thing abour marathoning is that you can smush a crappy episode between two good episodes. While watching them one a week I would get so excited and felt so letdown. But I marathoned season 1 so if there was ever a clifhanger then I could just jump to the next episode. Also, you don't analyse plot holes or tiny details as much when you're marathoning.

I've never really liked Lamb because of his attitude in the Pilot...I mean, "hello, rape kit and DNA evidence? Maybe make a SHOW of effort, you jackass." Then he got to be more comical and less of an evil villian. I doubt he'll ever be a two dimensional character and will instead just a running joke for Veronica.

HA! Well, I think the guy that plays Logan has a pretty distinct look. It's hard to describe. Whereas Duncan is just kinda of "generic boy." :D

Right. And also you probably forget stuff between eps. It was hard remembering who certain people were even when I had just watched a couple of hours before. It was really easy to marathon though - they just all flowed from one to the next nicely.

Yeah, that was definitely a "give me a break" moment. I find it SO hard to believe that anyone would be like that. Maybe I'm just naive.

Although, I do think the guy who plays Lamb is hot. I am shallow. ;)

No argument here, Michael Muhney is definetly hot! *fans self* I heard rumours that he was going to be a series regular, but I'm not sure.

Is the show actually going to be around for a 3rd season? Or did it get axed when they made the new network?

[identity profile] noblealice.livejournal.com 2006-09-11 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
It survived the network change and the S3 premiere will run on Oct 3rd on the CW after Gilmore Girls. (I think 9pm?)

Oh cool! One after the other!

The guy who plays Lamb is hot. And every once and a while I get a moment of Veronica/Lamb in my head and think it would be the BestShipEVA! Then I come back to my senses, shake my head, and move on. Still... he's pretty. Especially shirtless.

HA!! I ran across the Veronica/Lamb community this weekend. I'm very much 'to each his own' but it doesn't stop me from personally boggling. :D

And yeah. Saw the shirtless ep. :D
