Balancing Fragility

Okay, I gotta ask:

Fragile Balance? Uh, huh? Was the title a reference to the Asgard situation? What was being balanced? (SG-1's sanity? *g*) Was this a hold-over from when the ep was originally conceived? Before it turned into a comedy?

Oh yeah, I just checked and I'm still slightly creeped out by the thought of a 50-year-old guy in a teen's body running after teen girls.

And a final note - you'd have to drag me kicking and screaming back to high school. And I actually had a pretty good time in high school. Lots of friends. Lots of extra curricular activities. No unfortunate pantsings. It's just that life as an adult is *way* more interesting. :)

[eta] I didn't mention that I actually liked the episode, did I? Well, other people have mentioned tons of stuff already, so I didn't bother to give a repeat of stuff mentioned before. But this is by far my favorite "Jack-lite" episode!

Holy crap! It's raining again!

That is a bit strange, isn't it?

Can't say I'd go either. I think it's quite peculiar that all these grown women would want to be young again just to be able to potentially meet mini!jack.

*Very*

To quote Jack, "Oh, there's not a chance in hell."

*Very*

It's almost perverted somehow. Ewwww!

To quote Jack, "Oh, there's not a chance in hell."

*inclines head* Indeed!

You thought it was Jack-lite? I thought it was a pretty good Jack episode. Learned a lot of little things about Jack that I never knew before. It WAS very RDA-lite though. ;)

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2003-06-21 11:18 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah that's why I put "Jack-lite" in quotes - it seems to be the general term that people are running with for RDA-lite episodes.

But yeah - we did get a *lot* of new info on Jack which is great! Including his birthday!!

Bad people equating Jack-lite with RDA-lite. That delves into scariness. ;)

And why was he so upset that Daniel was rooting into his underwear drawer? hee hee

Because Jack has a picture of his one true love hidden in there - Maj. Gen. George Hammond. ;)

I bet he hides them behind the fish pictures. Or maybe in the bookcase. That would explain why he seemed upset at Teal'c.

Probably. And that could be why Jack ran after Teal'c and the salsa. If Teal'c moved too many more things, he'd have found the Hammond butter sculpture.

That totally makes sense. And Jack was surprised to find Sam, Jack, and Teal'c in his bedroom when he awoke. I BET he expected to see his little Hammy Whammy.

Oh and now we also know what Jack sleeps in. :)

The part they didn't show us was Jack mumbling George's name in his sleep.

Oh and now we also know what Jack sleeps in. :)

Dude! Totally! A bed!

Damn. You missed that part? You had to listen really carefully, but they showed it.

A bed!

I know. From fanfic I was sure it was going to be a sleeping bag or something.

Gonna have to go back and re-watch.

*sheepish* I think I wrote him sleeping in a cot. Damn.

That's my guess. Or the genetic instability of the clone, maybe? I'm with you that it's kind of an odd title.

I'm still slightly creeped out by the thought of a 50-year-old guy in a teen's body running after teen girls.

The general concept, I'm with you, slightly. Jack? Not so much. He's going into this having learned from 30-odd years of mistakes, after all. I'd probably rather have him chasing after them than the typical clueless 15-year-old guy.

And a final note - you'd have to drag me kicking and screaming back to high school. And I actually had a pretty good time in high school.

Right there with you. You couldn't pay me enough. Same goes for college, although I do get nostalgic for that part of my life occasionally in a way I never do with high school. It was fun. It's very definitely meant to be done once

Hmm.

Yeah, I see that. I just still get this creepy vibe.

Yep. Yeah, I'd more quickly go back to college. Although I'd only want to visit for a day or two - not be stuck there all over again.

Oh, thanks. I had managed to *not* think of that. Glad they decided it would be too weird to keep in touch. Can you imagine?

And I wouldn't go back to high school either. Loved the ep, though.

Whoops! :)

Glad they decided it would be too weird to keep in touch. Can you imagine?

Well, it made it a convenient plot device. Like whenever someone has a baby on a show and then you never see the kid again.

Loved the ep, though.

Yeah - very fun!
