Am again contemplating a trip to Disneyland this weekend since I'd like to see the new Halloween decorations. In thinking about it, I had been pulling up menus since I hate eating fried food or even fries when I'm there. But if I don't do a little planning, I end up wandering around until I'm starving to the point of crawling up to a window and ordering a burger and fries since I don't want to have to hike across the park for the chicken and veggie skewers that sound much better.

Anyway, made the discovery that DCA has date shakes! I am *totally* craving a date shake now! Hmm. Are date shakes even common outside of southern California? They always remind me of traveling as a kid. There's this place out near Palm Springs we would *always* stop at to get them. Mmmmmmm. Date shake - basically a vanilla shake with chopped up dates in it and that's it.

And unrelated to Disneyland, [livejournal.com profile] splash_the_cat has made a t-shirt as a result of this post.

Trying to decide in what form and what color I want it in. :)

Not here. My first thought was of a milkshake big enough to split, like with two straws in the same glass. Preferably shared by a guy with a ducktail haircut and a girl in a poodle skirt.

Heh heh. Had a feeling it might not be known, so put the description. They're so good! You wouldn't think they would be this thing of wonderfulness, but they are!

I thought what icepixie thought, and then I remember that dates are... fruit? I don't think I've ever even eaten a date. Huh.

I've never been to Disneyland, but I used to go to Disney World all the time as a child. I wish I either lived closer, or had more vacation time. :-)

*GASP*

Expand those fruit horizons!

(Actually, don't really care for dates themselves much. But date shakes? YUM.)

Actually, have only made it to Florida once, and then only was in Orlando a day. Made it to MGM and that's it. It is nice living close to Disneyland. Have had an annual pass for a few years.

Hmm, I've never heard of date shakes before, but they sound good! (And I suppose I'm the only one who initially thought of "date" as the fruit?? :D)

Got my date shake yesterday - wasn't the best I've ever had, but still GOOD.

(And you might be. :D)
