So I see on the rental car website that they have those GPS things you can rent. You know, the pushy kind that tell you where to go. But it's pretty pricey for just a few days' worth of use. But...GADGET!

My prefered way is to look everything up on the internet before I need it and put it on paper in a manner I can understand.

Though never having used on (or even seen one) it might be fun to fool around with for awhile.

Yeah, I usually go that route as well. I did ride around with someone once who had a built-in GPS and it was COOL. Would even tell you what lane to get in when manuvering the freeways in L.A. Handy!!

I say if you've got the cash, do it, but not if it means you'll be eating ramen to make up for it. Otherwise, splurge a little!

No. No ramen. :D It *is* tempting.

Ooh, we had one of these in Italy and it was so fun. Not always entirely accurate or helpful--usually, just not always--but fun.

Okay, that would be really cool to use in another country! Especially for someone like me who would be pointing at pictures in a book trying to communicate.

We've got one of those GPS units.

They're worth it for the entertainment value. =P They do send you down the scenic route sometimes. It also tried to send us right on a motorway where you could only turn LEFT onto it. There was a lot of laughter, the first day we tried it out. XD

They are semi-helpful, but really... sometimes, it's better to ignore it and turn it off.

HA! I can just picture us screaming as I turn down a one-way street now...

Hmm. You know, by the time I get used to using the thing, it may be time to turn it back in.

I join my two answers with a but to get the perfect answer:

Doooooo iiiiiiiit! but Only if it will call you a moron for missing a turn.

:D

Ack. How could I mess up html? Now that looks crap.

I know! I can hardly look at it. ;)

If you're doing new journeys which you probably are, they are very cool. However, they also take a few journeys to get used to so you may just get frustrated if you only have it for two days.

*goes off to check every box because she can*

Hmmm. Good point. I may just skip it, as fun as it sounds...
