Rule #1 of Doctor Who fandom: NEVER read meta. NEVER. By anyone. Just don't. Even me. Your sanity will thank you.

Also, it's amusing in talking with [livejournal.com profile] manticoran who was a Jack/Daniel person during The Great SG-1 Ship War of 2002/3. And had pretty much a similar reaction while being on the other side - that of "WTFF?" *has flashbacks to the war*

"WTFF?" *has flashbacks to the war*

Ah, yes. There's always the sane people fleeing for the hills. The sane ones are just quieter.

And some of those sane ones were quietly watching through binoculars from the hills...

Well, sure, but you can only do that after you've actually fled to the hills. Don't forget the popcorn. :-)

1) Where do you find such bad meta that hurts your heart and makes the room spin? *gives you Advil*

2) I've watched SG1, but never participated in fandom....so I have no idea what wars you are talking about. Sam/Jack vs. Daniel/Jack, right? Were they really brutal? *hopes your war scars heal*

1) Oh, it's really not too hard to find. Just start running around pretty much any DW community. :D

2) Yeah. Everyone thought that Jack should be sleeping with their person of choice. Depending on who you talk to, S/J was either canon or not. There were letter-writing campaigns, flame wars, etc. I was never active in the war, but observing it all back then has given me a *very* low tolerance of stuff like that now. I just don't even want to be near crap like that anymore, and it will only amuse me for about 5 seconds before I get sick of it.

Has fandom gone 'plodey again?

Dammit.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-10-24 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
No, not that I know of. We were just talking in general about DW meta. And then it came out we were on "opposing sides" in SG-1, which I find amusing.

I had not seen that icon before. I love it.

Made by [livejournal.com profile] napalm_isis. It's hypnotic!

DW fandom is much like the Staten Island land fill. It stinks and is full of garbage.

Sa...ni...tee? What means this word?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-10-24 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it's related to...a manatee? Ah, water cows.
