Neither of these shows gets an icon today.

I was bored, and so I slipped up. I watched GG. Oh, and Veronica Mars.

Oh, I am just so sick of that look Lorelai gets when she's in a relationship. You know the one - the "I'm having doubts and will probably soon bolt, but for now am pretending I'm loving this" look. The one she's had in *every* single relationship. Poor Christopher and his future flat screens will soon be kicked out. And then she'll probably yo-yo back to Luke. My guess is that they want to end the show with her with Luke. And it's probably good that they would end it this season (not sure - are they?) because otherwise next season she'd get that "I'm gonna bolt" look with Luke and... Well, you know the rest. We all know the rest.

Rory's still acting like she's 5 for some reason. And has a severe lack of social skills. Yeah, she may not have liked the people at the party, but has she learned nothing about faking her way through a party from her mother?

That being said, I didn't *loathe* the episode. It was okay.

It was amusing to see Patty Hearst playing Sarah (Susan?) Hearst. And kidnapped heiress? Heh.

Best part about this episode was Keith and Veronica breaking into the estate together. Have we ever really seen them be all detectivy together like this before? I like it. Need more of that, please. (Although, was Veronica actually leaving a message for her *dad* with all that "get your hand out of your pants because I'm bringing someone home"?? o_O NO. BAD. I'm all for their casual relationship, but NO.)

Veronica's self-righteous attitude when confronting people is starting to grate. Think it's been kicked up a notch or two from past seasons or something.

Poor Logan at the end. But doesn't he realize that it's that point in the season where they break up for a while? Surely he must have that on his calendar by now.

Apparently the rape storyline will be wrapped up next episode. Thank God.

Almost the 5-day weekend! WoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo!!

I loved GG. I know who the OTP of the show is, so I have no delusions that Chris and Lorelai will make it, but I am just enjoying it while I can. She seems so happy with him. I think the hand out of your pants reference was making fun of how some men like Al Bundy when they sit on the couch and watch TV, keep their hands inside their waistbands. It wasn't referring to...well you know. I loved Keith and V detecting together. I loved seeing Wallace and V work out clues and V punking Lamb on the phone. And L/V is what it always is for me, twisted and messed up and completely addicting. V dealing with a trauma and admitting she loves him caused her to retraet. It's what she does. Just as Logan because he was scared went over the top. I actually liked that he called her on always expecting him to change, but not willing to do that herself. I have seen a lot of comments since last season about V's growing self righteousness, but I just love her. It is one of her flaws and usually comes back to bite her in the butt. And I seriously didn't even know that was Patty Hearst. D'oh.

Really? I keep getting this "I'm totally gonna run" vibe from her. I think she *wants* to be happy with him, but isn't. For some reason.

Hopefully not!

I actually liked that he called her on always expecting him to change, but not willing to do that herself.

Yup - that's so true.

[identity profile] kammgirl.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah I get the bolt vibe too. She always has that. I just see her smiling and at ease and it makes me happy for her. In my heart, Chris was always her lobster.

Gilmore Girls is driving me absolutely bonkers. Mostly because Chris is absolutely the most out-of-touch character of all time, surely he can see that Lorelai looks like she wants to vomit every time they talk about being married. And just...GAH. I cannot stand Rory, have not been able to stand her for about two seasons, and I cannot for the life of me remember WHY I still watch this show...except that I've watched it since the beginning and I don't want to be a quitter. :P

And VM...You know, I just don't really like Veronica sometimes. I get that Logan doesn't have the most comforting past or anything (to put it mildly). But she either has to start trusting him a little, or just break up with him. Because their whole relationship right now is such BS. I'm so sick of the "Veronica Can't Trust - Sabotages Relationship - Leaves Logan Making Sad Faces Before Switching Back to Full-On-Asshole Mode" storyline. Thanks, but been there, done that. We get it. Promise.

And her attitude towards Logan paired with both her handling of the rape cases, and the rape victims themselves is just...gah. Gah.

You'd *think* that, wouldn't you?

*sigh* Yeah.

But she either has to start trusting him a little, or just break up with him.

A very big WORDY MC WORD.

BWAH!

Yeah, I am so ready to move on to the next thing which will hopefully be better.

Omg, I caved too and watched GG. Okay, I know I missed a couple episodes there, but did Luke and Lorelai really get to a place where he would call her with questions on April's health and Lorelai would go to the hospital to check up on April? Also, where the hell was Anna? Why didn't Luke call her?

As for Lorelai and Christopher ... *SIGH* Christopher just has to be the most oblivious person ever. Lorelai isn't even trying to hide the fact she's completely freaked out and is ready to split at any second. Also, um, DUH on the fact Rory was pissed she wasn't there for the wedding.

I still really like Logan (seriously. how did that happen???) But I'm kind of puzzled by how Logan suddenly became Mr. Responsible. Apparently moving to London does wonders for turning a slacker into a bonafide adult. Huh.

I also like Patty Hearst getting kidnapped (heh heh), but it would have been better if she wasn't such a crappy actress.

I think that was the best Veronica/Keith vibe we've had on the show in a while. And dear GOD, Veronica, JUST BREAK UP WITH LOGAN. If I have to look at Logan's woobie facial expression one more time, I might have to punch him.

(Although, was Veronica actually leaving a message for her *dad* with all that "get your hand out of your pants because I'm bringing someone home"?? o_O NO. BAD. I'm all for their casual relationship, but NO.)

Yeah, I was a bit thrown by that too, but I think she was referencing Married with Children where Ed Bundy always had a hand tucked under the waistband of his pants.

Had the same exact thought. I'm gonna assume that Luke called her offscreen. And I think the reason why Anna wasn't there was...something about someone's health issue? I think Anna's mother? Or something? Anyway, that's why April's living with Luke at the moment - Anna's out of town.

As for Lorelai and Christopher ... *SIGH* Christopher just has to be the most oblivious person ever. Lorelai isn't even trying to hide the fact she's completely freaked out and is ready to split at any second.

Yup and nope.

Also, um, DUH on the fact Rory was pissed she wasn't there for the wedding.

*nods*

Heh. Yeah. It's like someone wandered in off the street.

If I have to look at Logan's woobie facial expression one more time, I might have to punch him.

OMG! It's Son of Alias Puss Face!

Yeah, I was a bit thrown by that too, but I think she was referencing Married with Children where Ed Bundy always had a hand tucked under the waistband of his pants.

Dear God, I hope so.

I turned the TV on a little early for VM so I saw the last two minutes or so of GG and I just about puked on Jojo's shoes. I just know this is so right, I'm so in wuuuuv, blah blah blah BLECH. Who are these robots in Gilmore form? And seriously. Not notifying your daughter-slash-best-friend before you get married is just cruel.

I like the idea of Patty Hearst on VM, but the reality was virtually unwatchable. Ouch ouch with the bad acting. I love Keith and Veronica working together -- yes, more of that, please! The feminists continue to annoy the hell out of me and the rape storyline just gets more unbearable every week, UGH. And Logan, well. I can't get to Poor Logan, because with my sporadic viewing I never learned how to see him as anything more than a selfish jerk. But his heart was in the right place. And I liked when he told Keith that Keith should be shouting at Veronica instead.

I flipped past Craig Kilborn (I think -- the guy on ABC after Nightline) last night and Teri Hatcher was talking about Disneyland and I came *this close* to emailing you to tell you to watch. But then I went to bed instead.

I'm really not quite sure.

And seriously. Not notifying your daughter-slash-best-friend before you get married is just cruel.

Totally.

I like the idea of Patty Hearst on VM, but the reality was virtually unwatchable. Ouch ouch with the bad acting.

Uh huh. :D There's absolutely no facial expression there. Like, NONE.

I love Keith and Veronica working together -- yes, more of that, please!

For my part, they could totally ditch the college thing and just have Mars and Mars Investigations.

The feminists continue to annoy the hell out of me and the rape storyline just gets more unbearable every week, UGH.

Only one more week! Or so I'm told.

And Logan, well. I can't get to Poor Logan, because with my sporadic viewing I never learned how to see him as anything more than a selfish jerk. But his heart was in the right place. And I liked when he told Keith that Keith should be shouting at Veronica instead.

Heh. I remember when I caught a few S2 eps before watching anything else. There was much flailing at "OMG, she's with HIM?!" But...I guess I've warmed up to him. Although right now they're both way too disconnected and wrapped up in their own little worlds, that they shouldn't be in a relationship right now. Maybe try again in a few years or something after they've both matured a bit.

I flipped past Craig Kilborn (I think -- the guy on ABC after Nightline) last night and Teri Hatcher was talking about Disneyland and I came *this close* to emailing you to tell you to watch. But then I went to bed instead.

Hmm. Wonder what she was talking about.

Awww, no mention of the Disneyland references in VM?

And Logan and Veronica should have broken up a few episodes ago, omg.

There were Disneyland references? Missed those...

But *not* to get together with Cameron! *swats Jara*

Yeah, while she was crawling over the wall she was talking about visiting Disneyland with Keith.

But *not* to get together with Cameron! *swats Jara*

Why not? Damn, I'm predictable. But uh no, I just think Veronica could use someone who she can actually really trust.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, while she was crawling over the wall she was talking about visiting Disneyland with Keith.

Oh THAT'S right! And "the moose out front said you're closed" which was a Vacation reference. *snickers*

Why not? Damn, I'm predictable.

*squints*

But uh no, I just think Veronica could use someone who she can actually really trust.

*nodnodnod*

And Logan *may* be deserving of Veronica's trust, but she's not giving it to him and so it's a huge problem.

...which was a Vacation reference. *snickers*

I'll take your word for it.

And Logan *may* be deserving of Veronica's trust, but she's not giving it to him and so it's a huge problem.

Uh yeah, where exactly does he deserve it? Because as I see it, he's not been giving her much reason to trust him. Sure, he cancels a fun trip to Mexico once and Veronica takes a huge step to start trusting him, but then he goes keeping a ridiculous secret from her. If he had just told her the truth about the alibi right away, Veronica wouldn't have started getting suspicious again.
woodface: ([vm] cool specs)

I am a wee bit fumey over this. My entire flist keeps sscrambling about how Veronica is being unfair, but dude...

I'm really not a Logan fan. I used to be okay with him, but he's annoyed me so much in S3. V has too, because she's been really judgmental lately, but I'm willing to put up with it from her.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I think *both* Veronica and Logan are being dipshits in certain aspects.

I tried to expound on this, but I took sinus medication a couple of hours ago, and the most intelligent thing I can do this afternoon is yawn at my monitor.
woodface: ([sg] cutest smile)

[personal profile] woodface 2006-11-22 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it's a very well put yawn. *g*

Yeah, I agree that they're both screwing things up a whole lot here. I'm just not very partial.

I mean ET Online is openly bashing the show.

[identity profile] alliesings.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
I have to know, because Hubby was really into the idea that Luke and Chris were going to start punching each other... What was up with that scene from the previews where it looks like they're ready for a fight? Was that even in the episode or taken out of context?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I have no idea - that wasn't in this last episode. Next episode, maybe? I saw that in a preview as well and thought it'd be in this past episode.
