Free: Fic Snip

[livejournal.com profile] nandamai's been slowly getting me to pay attention to SG-1 again. And so I was looking at some old fic snips on my computer. Apparently I wrote these few paragraphs in 2005, but I have no recollection of writing them. (Probably because I wrote it just before DW's The Christmas Invasion, and after that my brain melted into a D/R puddle of goo.)

This is less than 200 words, but the beginning of a S/J established relationship fic. S9/10-ish.

This can be snagged by anyone willing to give it a good fic home. Or...more than one person. I really don't care. (And if you finish the fic by Feb 17, be sure to send it over to the [livejournal.com profile] carnivalofsquee!) (And...this hasn't been grammar-checked, so go nuts.)

Jack should have known a surprise wouldn't have worked. He should have just called up Sam and told her he was coming and to be waiting by the fireplace with a sandwich in one hand, a beer in the other, clothing optional. Of course *that* could have opened up a whole discussion about how she wasn't a domesticated housefrau, and then he would have told her to lighten up, which would have made things even worse... Was it odd that five months into the relationship and he could already accurately predict arguments?

But he should have predicted how the "surprise" was going to go by how the first thirty minutes in Colorado had gone. After stomping around the terminal for a while, he finally called Daniel.

"Daniel."

"Hey, Jack...SHIT."

*click*

Jack stared at his cell. In Daniel-speak, hopefully that translated to 'Even though I'm a complete idiot in forgetting you, I'm now on my way.'

Hopefully.

Hey, nice icon. I checked my friends page and saw the same icon twice and wondered what I did wrong. Then I noticed it was you.

Ahhhh, the scenes we'll never see. Too bad...

Oh, god, that's perfect. They'd so be predicting arguments already.

Also, GO ME.
