DW - The Stones of Blood (Four, Romana, K-9)

My tin dog love continues.

Doctor: K-9, why don't you bark or something?

K-9: I'm not programed to bark, master.

Doctor: Well, never mind about that. I've got a job for you. Now, you've always wanted to be a bloodhound...

K-9: Negative!

Doctor: Yes you have! Yes you have!

K-9: Neg...!

Doctor: Shhh! Now here's your chance.

Doctor: Didn't I give you some calculations you should be getting on with?

K-9: Calculations cannot be completed until you have finished constructing the equipment.

Doctor: All right! All right! Why don't you stop interrupting me and let me get on with it then? [to the Professor] He's a terrible old gasbag.

Professor: I still don't understand about hyperspace.

Doctor: Well, who does?

K-9: I do!

Doctor: Oh, shut up, K-9!
*snickers* Awww. Poor K-9. :D He was probably even wagging his wee tail when saying he knew about hyperspace.
Doctor: You know what they say about hyperspace.

Professor: No.

Doctor: They say it's a theoretical absurdity, and that's something I've always wanted to be lost in.

Mixed Media: "Sad K-9 in Grass"

The only actual comment on this episode I have is that when asked if he was from "outer space" the Doctor said no, he was from "inner time." Not *exactly* sure what that means, but it seems to go along with my idea that Time Lords and Gallifrey existed kind of outside of normal dimensions. And that's why the Daleks disappeared from the universe (as Jack mentioned in "Bad Wolf") - the Time War was on a different plane.

AHAHAHA!! Love how the Doctor sorta strong-arms K-9!!! I can't wait to see those episodes with the tin dog. I bet most of the worlds problems would be solved if there were more tin dogs in the world!

Uh huh! K-9 kept protesting, but it didn't work. :D

I just love K-9. I'm actually thinking he might be my favorite Classic companion. (Hmm. I think they refer to K-9 as a "he." Otherwise...it.) But you get the feeling K-9 humors the Doctor at times, which is adorable. In one of the other episodes K-9's been tracking the Doctor's movements for like 5 minutes, actually giving a countdown of when the Doctor will come into the room.

Doctor: K-9! You're surprised to see me, aren't you!

K-9: Very surprised, master.

:D

Yay! You have seen Romana learn the Lesson of Practical Shoes! (I have no idea why I fixate on that in this story, but I do.)

Doctor: They say it's a theoretical absurdity, and that's something I've always wanted to be lost in.

I love this line beyond all reason.

Oooh, intriguing! I've always just chalked it up to standard Four facetiousness, but this is more fun...

Poor Romana. And love how the Doctor's "Okay, whatever!" when she insists on wearing them. :D

I love this line beyond all reason.

Totally! This line and ones like it are I think what sets this show apart from other cheesy sci-fi shows of its day. The writing wasn't afraid to be smart and *not* dumb things down.

Well, I've got this whole pre-conceived concept about it, and so if I can make canon say the same thing... :D

K9 is the BEST. Even when people have to carry him about, because he can't go up stairs or around rough ground.

K9 is the BEST.

I just LOVE him! I love the Doctor and him! Can't wait to watch School Reunion again. Before it was like, oh. Metal dog. Heh heh. But now...K-9!! Looking back on it, they really should have had more of K-9 and the Doctor in that ep. Although "You a good dog." "Affirmative." is still so sweet.

Even when people have to carry him about, because he can't go up stairs or around rough ground.

Awwww!

I love this episode - the aging lesbian archaeologists are WIN. Also, K9! And Romana I's lack of sensible shoes.

Uh huh! It was like, yeah, they're totally taking Romana back to their lesbian coven now... :D

Also, K9! And Romana I's lack of sensible shoes.

Romana will never make that mistake again. *snickers*

I love this eppie! The Professor would have made a great companion, or so I always say. And I know of a few folks that agree with me. *grins*

"Inner time" instead of "outer space" -- well, that makes some sense.

The Professor reminded me a *lot* of Mrs. Moore from the AU. She'd have probably made a kick-ass companion as well.

And yeah, thought the "inner time" thing was pretty interesting.
