It's sometimes hard not to, isn't it? Sure, I like Daniel but knowing that MS is back because some fans shouted loud enough and not because of his love for the show, that doesn't sit well with me. I'm saddened it will keep from getting Jonas grow to be a full member of SG-1. Although honestly, the Jonas centered episodes in S6 have been a tad boring to me. Whereas Daniel centered eps have me sometimes very much intrigued. With a couple of exceptions.

Because the continuing head ons between SDJers and SJers? The most annoying thing is that I don't experience those head ons myself, I only have hear-say and even then my info is vague. Of course there are the things that Suz has posted from that one message board that got me annoyed and convinced I should not venture further down that road. From what I gather from that there is a certain love for Daniel coming from his hard core fans that clashes with liking the other team mates. Daniel is great, Sam sucks and should leave. Perhaps it's the finality that they put in their choice of either you chose for Daniel completely or you are against him that makes your mind think that "liking" Daniel means that you are going against SJ. Which in my opinion is ridiculous as I don't see why liking Daniel should prevent you from following up your ship. I like Daniel, I sometimes think he is right about something, other times I think Jack is right etc. Am I still making sense?

If they really didn't want him back for whatever reason, they would have told the campaign to go pound sand. (The internet community really is a legend in its own mind.) And as for MS coming back without a love for the show...can't answer to that one. Don't know if he loves it or not. But as an actor - it's a full-time gig.

From my understanding (and I may be wrong), it was MS' decision to leave the show. He thought his character had grown stagnant (and he sounded kind of tired of it all) and wanted to move on to other acting opportunities. Which sounds good in theory, but as a lot of actors find out once they leave a show, it's not as easy finding new gigs as they thought. (This happens over and over again - you'd think actors would catch a clue - stick with the paying gig!) So when TPTB offered him the part again (yes, from everything I've read it was TPTB that approached him, not the other way around) he jumped at it. Gotta pay those bills!

I *think* I read that RDA's schedule was going to be the same as last year - which I interpreted as he'd have roughly the same amount of screen time as last year. If you remember, there were a few episodes in the middle of S6 that were very RDA-lite or even non-existent. What I'm hoping is that they're getting the RDA-lite episodes out of the way up front this time instead of in the middle.
