Hot diggity dog.

So [livejournal.com profile] elismor *strongly* objects to my getting a Costco hot dog for lunch when I go there to get office supplies. I think it's something about the fact that they only charge you $1.25 for a hot dog *and* a soda and something that cheap can't be right. Now *I* think they're tasty. If I'm in a hot dog mood, that is.

Man, now I really want a hot dog and some cheese fries.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooooh. Cheese fries!

Aww I love your icon. It is so cute.

Thanks! :)

The last time I was at Costco, I tried a sample of this chicken tamale thingy that was quite yummy! I might have to buy that one day ...

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh. Hopefully it will still be there when you go back. Those gingerbread biscotti never made a reappearance. :(

[identity profile] poohmusings.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's right! Those were good biscotti, man. I noticed Starbucks selling a gingerbread biscotti the other day. I wonder if those are any good.

Oh huh. I may have to investigate.

You know those are made of zebra butt and rat entrails, right?

But for $1.25, power to ya, chica.

You should get together with Elis. (Mmmm. Zebra.)

But for $1.25, power to ya, chica.

I'd probably buy Soylent Green for $1.25. (Which taste is better than Soylent Cola which can vary from person to person.)

That's a bargain! Cannibalism for $1.25. God bless America.

I think it's something about the fact that they only charge you $1.25 for a hot dog *and* a soda and something that cheap can't be right.

The market in the little town where I went to college charged 50 cents for a hotdog. I think cans of coke were also 50 cents.

I'm not much for hotdogs, so I never tried one, but I hear they were quite good, if you like that sort of thing.

That same market only charged $2.20 for a pint of Ben & Jerry's. Everything else was marked up ridiculously because--aside from the snack food/baked goods/ice cream sections of the college bookstore--they were the only game in town and they could do that, but damn, I miss the cheap ice cream.

You gotta love college towns! Cheap eats everywhere!

(And hot dogs can't be that expensive anyway. Like, I'd never pay $5 for a hot dog.)

I love their berry smoothies, mm.

Oooh yeah!

[identity profile] alliesings.livejournal.com 2007-02-08 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Do they still sell Hebrew National hotdogs at Costco? Those are really good.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-02-08 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not exactly sure what brand they are. Hmm.

[identity profile] alliesings.livejournal.com 2007-02-08 10:59 am (UTC)(link)
When I lived in California, I used to go to Costco with my dad a couple times a month, and those Hebrew Nationals were often our lunch out. Aww, fond memories.

[identity profile] shutthef-up.livejournal.com 2007-02-08 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Last time I was in a Costco, they were Hebrew National hot dogs which are all beef and quite tasty!

Ex and I used to get them every single time we went (about once a month or so)

It's a steal, man! Fill up on those puppies!

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-02-08 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
They *are* tasty! Plus you can load them up yourself with onions and mustard and ketchup (no relish for me, thanks.)

And really, you cannot beat the price! Quite handy when running errands on Saturdays.
