- Three people have made icons so far, and so I linked. :)
- Video of otters holding hands!!! This will fill your cute quota for the day.
- Company lunch today - free food. Woo!
- So. No one warned me about "Planet of Fire." And I'm only about half way through it yet. a) Turlough without
pantstrousers. b) Peri obviously forgetting she doesn't know how to swim, which caused Turlough to be without trousers. (You'd think that a wet man and woman rolling around in their underwear would be HOT. But instead it was pasty and frightening.) c) And I'm sure the Doctor plotting on how exactly he can jump his own timeline and skip straight over to Ace.

I think the scene went a lot better in the heads of the writers than it did in actuality...
I remember reading something regarding Peri that she was brought on for two big reasons. Yeah, and they made sure those two big ones were seen each week.
Also, do like my new Doctor icon. Hey, he's a doctor, right? Just imagine him flying around in the tardis. He's British, he could do it. Be the most bitter doctor ever...

Quite possibly. I kept looking for Peri's off button though.

Heh. I think she might be the only Companion out of everyone I've seen and heard that I actually dislike.

I've...mostly blocked it out. I have vague memories of the pasty and frightening. (About which you are SO very right, and I am ROTFL.)
Also, I now no longer need to answer your earlier question about Turlough's non-British-schoolboyish knowledge of alien stuff, yes? (As long as you're not asking WHY they took several stories to get around to mentioning outright that, oh, yeah, he was some sort of political exile and was in fact from neither the 20th century nor Earth. Because I still have no frakking clue.)

I can't blame him. It boggled my mind the other day when I was responding to a question from

And they weren't even boxers! *CRIES*

'twas pretty odd. I mean, I liked the mystery that went with getting the answer, but you'd have thought that should have been towards the beginning of his run.
I can't blame him. It boggled my mind the other day when I was responding to a question from amaka, and realized that Peri is in the top three or four longest-running companions. Because that implies a level of significance that she...just doesn't have to me. I don't have anything against her, but am agog that she was around for what adds up to two full seasons.
Wow. That's a wee bit puzzling.

1) The Beeb was still all "Companions are for eye candy, right?"
2) Nicola was really, really young and didn't figure she could be doing better as soon as some people did.
But it still surprises me somehow.
