DAMMIT! THEY KILLED THE HOBBIT! BAH! PFFFFT!
Bye, Charlie.
Okay, so Lost just pulled a BSG "1 Year Later"-type thing. It was pretty tricky of them, I'll admit. The whole time you think you're getting the standard flashback, and turns out it's a flash-forward. They're off the island and Jack's a junkie. Juliet's nowhere in sight. Kate *sounds* like she's with Sawyer, but she never says his name.
I missed a few minutes in the beginning - did they ever say who it was that had died? They never said during the rest of it - one of the random islanders? Jack cared because he felt responsible for everyone, while to Kate it was just someone she was stuck on an island with for 90 days.
Ben lied and lied and lied. Obviously they weren't all killed, like he said they would be, as at least Jack and Kate were off the island.
I totally knew that Locke wasn't dead. However... Walt??? Okay, so...this mean that Michael and Walt never really got back home? Or was this just the island playing tricks?
Charlie's death seemed a bit pointless. You would think that he could have ran *OUT* of the room and then closed the door. Am I being too logical? Well, maybe there wasn't enough time - he wouldn't have been able to keep Desmond out that way. But still - the water wasn't coming in *that* fast. They could have hoofed it to the scuba gear and swam out. And then the hobbit wouldn't be dead.
Wonder if this flash-forward is real or if it's perhaps some sort of Desmond flash. Hmmm. Otherwise, will Jack get back to the island like he wants? Basically, they really could start from scratch if they wanted - everyone who got off the island is gone and the story goes on with the people that stayed behind. I'm sure Locke stayed. Ben & Co. Maybe it's all just a dream... Heh.
So, Jacob. Just found an old comment I'd made back in 2005 where I was wondering about Lost possibly relating to the Philadelphia Experiment. And now I'm back to thinking along those lines. But like the supposed Philadelphia Experiment, the island experiment had unintended results, like people who don't age and invisible people, as well as healing properties for some and deadly properties for others, and the monster smoke giraffeabear.

I pretty much thought it was awesome, but I also was pretty right the whole time about what was going on.
No, we don't know who's in the coffin.

I was *just* getting there as a matter of fact. :D (Takes a while to catch up on the flist every day.)
but I've always thought of Lost and the others/island having something to do with experiments gone wrong. We'll see.
Seems like it, doesn't it?

Pushing back from the door and crossing himself is then the ultimate sacrifice for those he loves.
With the religious themes of Charlie's (and Desmond's) story, it makes him a Christ-figure. Now, whether that was necessary or smart is up to debate.

And I suspect the guy who died was Locke. Don't know why I think that, but I do.

As far as the guy who died - could be. Although I'd think Locke would have stayed on the island.
