  • Am considering getting back to Masque of Mandragora, wherein the Doctor and Sarah Jane drop in the middle of Masterpiece Theater (in a good way.) However, [livejournal.com profile] icepixie has taunted me with S3 of Slings & Arrows, and so I might be heading off to that instead. Finished S2 yesterday - I just reeeeally love watching this show. Probably a lot due to the fact that Paul Gross plays the *best* insane person ever, in that 'mad, creative, talented' way. Is there going to be a 4th season?

  • I've written up a DW meta about "When Perfect Doesn't Exactly Mean Perfect" but am debating where to post it. I've got too many communities and too many filters now. Hmm. How obsessed are you when you write a page of meta based on a split second of screen time? Forget the "Crazy Filter." I need a "Doctor Who Has Fucked With My Mind" filter. One composed of just me, where I can have long conversations with myself.

  • ARRRRRR!

  • ETA: I still have not worked up the urge to watch the finales of Gilmore Girls or Veronica Mars. :-\

"Masque of Mandragora" is so good! I love the tour of the TARDIS at the beginning. :)

However, icepixie has taunted me with S3 of Slings & Arrows

*taunts some more*

Paul Gross is awesome in pretty much anything he's ever been in, as far as I can tell. Damn, the man's amazing.

Is there going to be a 4th season?

Sadly, no. S3's finale is very definitely written as the show's finale. Although apparently lots of people involved would be up for a spin off. I don't know if that'll ever happen; hope it does, though.

It is! I was like, "Holy crap! This is...GOOD" during what I've watched so far in the parts that don't involve the Doctor and Sarah Jane. I mean, good in a way that you don't normally see. I could totally see something like this airing on PBS or A&E. Heh.

I love the tour of the TARDIS at the beginning. :)

Totally. :D

Oh man. I think I might have to break down and watch an episode of Due South. Yes, he is just that good.

Damn. I could easily watch more seasons. Hell, go through all of Shakespeare's plays!

*points and laughs* "An episode," she says. I said that, too. And now I have every season set.

(Seriously, it's a great show. If you want recs, I've got 'em.)

(Oh, and PG's been in several good-to-great movies as well. I highly, highly recommend Wilby Wonderful.)

Totally! I would've loved to see them do The Tempest, Twelfth Night, and The Taming of the Shrew (especially TTotS). Half the fics I've read seem to involve Much Ado About Nothing--generally Geoffrey and Ellen starring in it before his crackup--which would also be nifty.

Hmmm. I could use a summer show.

The Taming of the Shrew could be fantastic! Or Henry V. Or Julius Caesar... Really, anything!

I watched the first three of S3 last night, and I can't believe there's only 3 more and that's IT. *sniffs*

Dude. I think you would get such a kick out of it. It's wacky and crazy and wonderful. For example, there's a two-parter wherein Fraser and Ray chase down pirates on Lake Superior with help from a replica of the HMS Bounty crewed by Mounties. I think there was much crack consumed before the writing of this show. *g*

And they actually did great drama, too. Not to mention trauma. "Victoria's Secret" left permanent scars on my psyche, I think.

Oh, and Paul Gross gets saddled with another ghost! Hee!

Oooooh, Henry V. I love Henry V.

I know. *sniffle* But at least the ending really feels like an ending. Yay for resolution.

I think I'm getting talked into Due South. :D

Okay, how can Netflix NOT have Due South??

Ohhh, forgot to warn you. Yeah, that's a bummer. And also why I just went ahead and bought the season sets...although it helps that they are literally $12 or $15 per season. And they're regular 24-episode seasons, too.

P.S. Check your e-mail. *g*

Due South is good. Weird, really really weird (for a show that's supposedly set in modern America/Canada and has no major science fiction elements), but good. *pimps*

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-05-29 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh. I do like weird.

[identity profile] beck-liz.livejournal.com 2007-05-29 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
OK, so Mountie down from the Great North, who's too weird and too "Mounties always get their man" for other Mounties. He has a deaf half-wolf who he talks to like the wolf understands him (lip-reading, don't you know), and his father's ghost follows him around and makes snarky commentary and/or tells him mostly irrelevant stories from his days as a Mountie.

HA!!!!

I still have not worked up the urge to watch the finales of Gilmore Girls or Veronica Mars. :-\

I want to see VM, since it's the last of Veronica, Keith, Wallace et. al. that I'll get to see. But given that I've seen fairly extreme reactions to it on my flist, I haven't worked up the urge, either. ("It's the most awesomest thing that ever awesomed!" "Worst season finale EVER!" *sigh* I don't remember seeing anyone who had a medium reaction to it.)

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-05-29 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Seems pretty typical of most finale reactions, don't it? :D

[identity profile] kammgirl.livejournal.com 2007-05-30 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
I loved the last two episodes of VM. It was clearly not a finale because they did not know it was the end, but they were great episodes full of what made VM so unique. But God the fandom is exhausting right now and I am not even vocal. I liked GG but it didn't make me sob or anything.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-05-30 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
I'll probably get there eventually.
