Huh.

Hmmm. Had a thought about that clip we've seen of not the next episode of DW, but the episode after that.

You know, the one where the Doctor takes off with a strange look when he sees Jack running towards the TARDIS?

*IF* the Doctor knew Jack was involved with Torchwood, do you think he was perhaps being kind?

*shudders*

ETA: Oh. Um. Didn't one of the Torchwood offices completely disappear? The fury of a Time Lord?

ETA2: Okay, maybe not. But still. Run, Jack! The Doctor is freaking me out!

... oh, you mean the kind of "kind" that he was to the Family? Eeep. *shudders also*

Torchwood Four, I think, previously in Ireland. No one knows what happened to it, so... maybe?

Yeah, that's what I mean, unfortunately. That expression on the Doctor's face is just so WEIRD.

Oh, off in Ireland? Probably not related then. Unless they were a support team for Canary Warf or something. Eh...

I just took that to mean that he didn't know that Jack was still alive--he wouldn't expect to see anyone he knew. I mean, the last he knew/saw, Jack had been killed by the Daleks.

Hopefully. You'd think he would have stopped though, instead of flipping the switch to get out of there.

Asssssjjkjkkk!!!

I didn't even consider that.

*shudders*

It could very well not be the case. And hopefully won't be the case.

I think seeing what he did to the Family really unnerved me. He's hard-core scary right now since he's over on the vengeance side of the line of justice.

Yeah. I figure there *has* to be an explanation that makes sense. None of these cliffhanger clips are ever what we think they are.

It's messed me up, too. And I'm torn between thinking the Who Crackteam is awesome for going there and wanting to hide from him in a hole. *wibbles*

They really aren't, are they? And so far I've only had about a 20% successful guess rate at what actually happens. :D It'll probably turn out that the Doctor owes Jack money. Mwah.

Well, to show someone like the Doctor going to a dark place, you gotta have the power he holds come with it. It's scary as hell though, because he does have the power of a god while being completely fucked up at the moment.

I think that he really didn't know Jack was alive until then. The shock and the horror of it made him continue to do the Avoidance Tap Dance he's done so well all season. Also, Jack brings with him memories of Rose (the biggest part of the Avoidance Tap Dance).

While your theory made me go, "Ooooo". I don't think he knows Jack works for Torchwood. But when he finds out, it's not going to be pretty. We saw how he reacted to just seeing their name in The Runaway Bride. This is his friend.

I just watched the scene about Torchwood Four. Jack says it's sort of gone missing but that they'll find it one day. And that's it. I still find it interesting that there's a Torchwood in the altverse when there was no Doctor and Rose to tick off Queen Victoria with their nakedness and flippancy. Connected? Could be. Could not. I hope so.

I always wonder about that and that throwaway line in that CiN special about Jack rebuilding the Earth.

Yeah, it doesn't really work, does it? Not sure how he would know about Jack.

I think I was having more of a "Run away, Jack! The Doctor is SCARY!" moment.

I've seen that theory floated around before - could very well be.

Oh course...I unfortunately do not know the clip you're talking about so I can't comment much but right now, nothing would really surprise me. Although the end of Torchwood made it seem like the Doctor had stopped by to pick Jack up, even back them I predicted it would come to fist-a-cuffs with Jack working for Torchwood and even TRB making it clear the Doctor did have hard feelings on that front, and Jack's admittedly gorgeous smile (but really, does he have any other kind?) seeming to me that it would only end in pain. But back then I figured the two of them could just punch each other a couple times and then they'd realize they didn't really feel like it, but at this point I can see the Doctor taking a lot of aggression and dumping it on Jack.

So yeah, Jack, run. The Doctor is scary these days, he's not really the right kind of Doctor.

Oh, it was a clip that John B. showed on a talk show of the moment Jack comes running out of Torchwood to the Doctor. The Doctor sees him and splits.

he's not really the right kind of Doctor.

Boy, ain't that the truth?
