  • My new icon will instantly get me whatever I want now. *points and nods* Even [livejournal.com profile] josephides will not be immune. She'll try and be contrary, but she'll be powerless.

  • I'm still "hmmm"-ing a bit about the fact that the latest DW episode "Blink" has been heralded by many (no, not everyone) as the best episode of S3. And it was the Doctor-and-Martha-lite episode.

  • I'm thinking icons might have to be made that say something to the effect of, "If 'Batshipper' is being wrong, HONEY, I don't want to be right!" If you can't avoid labels, may as well embrace them. (Although, I still say that labels say more about the people using them than the people they're trying to label.)

  • Why is it Monday? Hey, Monday - look at my icon! You can go now.

I likes the new icon.

I got a new icon too.

Sort of looks like your old icon.

What goes around comes around...

Must be that timey-wimey thingie.

Ooh, yeah. Temporal paradox...shift thing.

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I always adored your SHH. TV. icon and figured it was tie for one of my own...

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Can't be too many cats watching TV!

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
And here's one who got interrupted while watching tv...

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
You know I'm not getting any work done...

I shouldn't be sitting here waiting for your responses...

I have work to get done!!!

Where did I put the remote...

Awww! *dies* that icon!

I've not watched S3 for the past 3 weeks. I've just been to busy with exams and stuff and to be honest what I've seen so far hasn't impressed me.

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
You'll like Blink... even though it's Doctor/Martha lite episode.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
If you do end up watching one more episode, make it Blink. You don't need any backstory whatsoever for it.

[identity profile] misssara11.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm still "hmmm"-ing a bit about the fact that the latest DW episode "Blink" has been heralded by many (no, not everyone) as the best episode of S3. And it was the Doctor-and-Martha-lite episode.

Hee! That's me, the "no, not everyone"!

I thought it was a bit rubbish. It had some good lines but the plot holes were many and if you think too long about the plot, your brain will ooze out your ears. Also, I must be inhuman because it didn't scare me either.

And you get many many points for your icon but I still like mine that gets me what I want (at least from [livejournal.com profile] ivydoor).

[identity profile] ivydoor.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Oi! I'm not that easily manipulated!

Okay, maybe I am.

[identity profile] misssara11.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! The icon compels you!!!

[identity profile] ivydoor.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Curse you! *shakes fist*

*marches off to find [livejournal.com profile] jesidres & make her color her chibi's for icons to out-cute Towel Boy*

But wasn't that the case during most of Classic Who too? :)

Very much so!

I just expect better now I guess. And there's always going to be the one person who hates the episode everyone else loves. We all get our turn. This time it's mine!

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I can remember in, I think it was 1996, when the Paul McGann movie came out I was sitting there watching it. My phone rang. A voice on the other end of the phone went, "Where's the cheesy music? I miss the cheesy music".

The whole of the Doctor back then was cheese. But it seems to have grown up a bit. In some ways I miss it and in some ways I don't.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Usually screwy time plots will instantly make me crackers. But for some reason, the only part of the plot that had me narrowing my eyes was the Doctor's emergency message, since I didn't think he'd have the time to record something like that. But then I realized that the Doctor had the entire thing planned out before he and Martha even set foot out of the TARDIS at the Scooby Doo house in 2007.

[identity profile] misssara11.livejournal.com 2007-06-12 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
But what about the paradox of two Billy's in the same time line? You can't tell me he would remember ever place he went to and that they couldn't potentially run into each other and have a "Don't Touch the Baby!" moment. They keep telling us "You can't cross a personal timeline" and yet that's what a lot of this story relied on.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-06-12 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
VERY true. Okay, this isn't me trying to wave this away, but I wonder if the angels did something so that would be prevented. Like...protective time mojo or something. Otherwise, the second they sent someone to a close enough time, it could bring down the universe.

"This is my timey-wimey detector. Goes ding when there's stuff."

That just makes me smile every time I think about it. Oh, Doctor. *cracks up*

I'm still "hmmm"-ing a bit about the fact that the latest DW episode "Blink" has been heralded by many (no, not everyone) as the best episode of S3. And it was the Doctor-and-Martha-lite episode.

Yeah, that's interesting, isn't it? ;-) Although I did adore what we saw of the Doctor here.

"If 'Batshipper' is being wrong, HONEY, I don't want to be right!" If you can't avoid labels, may as well embrace them.

Yes please, and thank you. Silly people.

Why is it Monday???? Ow.

The part that always gets me is the chicken part. Just because of this mad look on his face when he says it. BWAH!!!

Yeah, that's interesting, isn't it? ;-) Although I did adore what we saw of the Doctor here.

Heh.

Yes please, and thank you. Silly people.

It's like, Christ on a cracker, people! Someone talks about something you don't agree with off in a place that's not your journal, you immediatly slap a "batshipper" label on them as "proof" that they are stupid because you don't like what they're saying, and *they're* the insane ones?

Why is it Monday???? Ow.

It's sad, isn't it?

[identity profile] elismor.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm still "hmmm"-ing a bit about the fact that the latest DW episode "Blink" has been heralded by many (no, not everyone) as the best episode of S3. And it was the Doctor-and-Martha-lite episode.

It's because RTD didn't write it.

I'm just saying.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Bwah!! Well, there was definitely a lack of falling anvils.

[identity profile] greenpear.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
And ducks with no bills...

[identity profile] elismor.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)

I'm telling you, for all that I am grateful that he revived the series, he really needs to just back away from the keyboard.

Is there something you're trying to tell me??? :)

I enjoyed it / others did not. I guess we'll agree to disagree.

[identity profile] samkicksass.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
yes, i had to look away from the icon. i suddenly wanted to do whatever you asked.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
EXCELLENT!

[identity profile] debs7.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd say it was definitely the episode I have enjoyed the most out of season 3.

Scary bloody statues plus a Doctor that seemed happier made it more enjoyable for me.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, very much so - a complete lack of angst really was a bonus.

[identity profile] threerings.livejournal.com 2007-06-11 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
There for a while, I really felt like starting a community called "batshipper_pride" and making icons of the batsignal coming out of the TARDIS and starting a movement...

And then I think the next day happened and I forgot.

But, yeah, reclaiming labels is fun.

-Batshipper and proud.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-06-12 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
MWAH! I know, you almost feel like doing stuff like making icons or creating communities, and then you wander off at the next shiny thing...
