Another conversation with the Doctor and Rose in trying to get them to go play in my fic.

Me: Okay! Time to get back to the happy, fluffy fic world! *claps*

Rose: Um, sorry. The Doctor can't come out and play just now.

Me: What?

Rose: Really. He's... Well, he's in there sucking his thumb and repeating 'the bad man made me do things.' Apparently I need to do some sort of ass-kicking trip to BBC Wales or something.

Me: Is he going to be okay?

Rose: Oh yeah. He's getting lots of sex, which, as you know, cures everything.

Me: Oh, right, right.

Rose: Of course, there is a lot of crying during the sex.

Me: And talking about the bad man?

Rose: Urg. Yes. I wish he would quit that. It's creeping me out.

Rose: After the finale at least. It will probably be soul-crushing. You know, again. I'm thinking of taking him on holiday to a petting zoo or a farm or something after it. Maybe petting a goat will be therapeutic. Hopefully the crying won't freak out the goat.

I'm really hoping the Nyssafic doesn't get derailed if Saxon turns out to be the Master. Intellectually I don't care if something gets jossed into AUness, but in practice I always have trouble finishing when it does. I could taffy-pull my plot to fit a pre-Time-War Master, but I like how it works now. *pout* (In my head, at least. Since there's only about five pages of it in actual text.)

I guess that's an upside to the Ridonkulously Long Midseason Break on Blood Ties: Continuity on hold = no anxiety that that fic will get jossed before I can finish it...

It's after the Time War for Ten & Co. Not for Five & Co. (It's okay if you're confused. They are too. *g*) So the Master could conceivably be from either frame, but the way my plot currently works, he's there as a consequence of the war.

Certainly not for keeping ratings up. *growl* In this case I'll forgive Lifetime because they had already committed the timeslot to Army Wives before buying BT's back nine, so they wouldn't have had anywhere to put it. And the October return will put us on roughly the same schedule as Canada, since it doesn't start there until late August. So as long as they don't do the same thing next season (there will be a next season, dammit!), they get a pass. (Unlike stooopid Skiffy, which insists upon it as a matter of course.)

Plus, y'know, breathing room for fic. :-}

Poor Doctor! Poor Rose! Yeah, there's at least two WIPs that I know of that are completely stalled due to this series.
