Here come the drums...

  • Doctor: The Master and WIFE?? O_O (Bwahahahahaha! But who's Lucy? She looks familiar.)

  • Martha: Thought you and the Master might have been secret brothers or something. Doctor: You've been watching too much TV. *LOVES*

  • Holy buckets of backstory, Batman!!! Academy at 8! Initiation with the Vortex! Time Lord robes! (bwahahahahaha!) Okay, but the Master went mad and the Doctor ran away. Interesting. People will meta on that point alone for YEARS. But that *totally* fits the Doctor getting hives just being near Gallifrey. Well, that and the fact that Time Lords are dicks.

  • Jack finally admits he works for Torchwood. The Doctor's pissed, but it quickly passes.

  • Doctor: It's like when you fancy someone and they don't know you exist. *runs off* Jack to Martha: You too, huh?

Awww. I keep kinda wondering if Martha's gonna jump ship in the finale. Her family is *messed up* because of traveling with the Doctor. And then she meets Jack who she finds out the Doctor just ditched and never looked back - a person who had that same love for the Doctor. Yeah, either jump ship at the end, or come to this epiphany of knowing all this – that she could get ditched, that her family could be compromised, the world could burn, and she'll still travel with the Doctor. She's just *really* gonna need to get to that place of being okay with the Doctor not being in love with her.

  • Ohhhhhhhhhhh. So Saxon's been around since the time of Rose, right? Remember how in Love & Monsters they had files on the Doctor, but for some reason the files on his companion were wiped out by the Bad Wolf Virus? Me thinks Vortex!Rose was trying to protect her family.

  • Heh. UNIT.

  • Oh, the Doctor wants to save the Master. Why do I think that this is just NOT going to end well?

  • Oh *SOB* The cloister bell on the TARDIS is ringing and ringing! Okay, seriously. I was sniffling. The TARDIS is in pain!

  • The Master with jelly babies. Heh.

  • Ball things: Is the machine singing? (WHY does this sound familiar? Something singing? OH! Huh. I think I'm thinking of the Gelth. They sang to Gwen.)

  • Ha! The music! *boogies* Night-club TARDIS! AWESOME. Yes, and now I must have this song. :D

  • Why exactly did Martha hop to the planet? (Oh God. I'm not allowed to make a "to update her myspace" joke am I? :-x)

  • Preview: Commando!Martha! See, *this* is the Martha I wanted for this whole series. Bring on commando!Martha!! Bring on the finale!

Wouldn't be surprised if that came back later on in the next episode. I'm also thinking about what other big secret we haven't been told about concerning the Doctor and Jack (at least I think there's still one more big surprise to go for BBC)

Rose, please. :D Of course, that's like a given with me. Gimme!

We're going to see what happens in the next episode. As others have mentioned this is a very good possibility... logically anyway. Like you mentioned Martha has to be completely okay with the idea that she can travel with the Doctor and he'll never fall in love with her, in addition to risking not only her life but her family's lives as well.

This Drums episode seems rather like the nail in the coffin of her staying on, doesn't it? They've been writing her out from the beginning. Either that or she will have this epiphany moment of deciding the Doctor > absolutely everything else in her life, even though he doesn't love her.

Would this be around the Christmas Invasion? Or a little bit after that? I think... I think that Saxon was mentioned in Series Two but I can't remember. Will have to check that out just to make sure. *is not entirely sure* The chance that he could have been involved, in some way or another, with the Cybermen increases in my head.

Not exactly sure. Didn't they say something like he'd arrived on the scene right around the time of the fall of Harriet Jones? Way to go, Doctor!

The Master went too far, in my opinion, when he decided to mess with the TARDIS. I love the character, and his wife evil!Rose Lucy. They are just perfect for each other and, as someone mentioned earlier, know each other very well.

I really need to watch this again. Everything was just so...interesting!

*crosses her fingers and hopes that Martha's myspace is not updated unless there's some kind of time difference between this episode and next episode.... like weeks/months not hours/days*

Betcha there will be some time between episodes. It's not like Martha hit the ground, suited up, and pointed at a couple of guys, telling them to follow her.

Ditto. I feel like Oliver: "I'd like some more, please."

They've been writing her out from the beginning.

They must be. I mean, they haven't given her her own episode, like "Father's Day," they almost never really talk about the character in the Confidentials, her life is in shreds... it makes sense.

Didn't they say something like he'd arrived on the scene right around the time of the fall of Harriet Jones? Way to go, Doctor!

*whacks Doctor upside the head* You know I love you, Doctor, but you aren't half stupid some of the time.

Yup. Which means we can all check her MySpace tomorrow morning. Yays! *cough* So that she can be sure to let the Saxonites know where the resistance movement is hiding out (because that's what they looked like, a resistance movement).

And someday I'd like Jack and Rose to be able to say hello, complete with a hug.

They must be. I mean, they haven't given her her own episode, like "Father's Day," they almost never really talk about the character in the Confidentials, her life is in shreds... it makes sense.

It does seem like they really haven't invested a whole lot in her character. Which means either they planned for her not to stick around, or we'll get all of this next series.

He just has no thought for what's next sometimes. He puts on his righteous indignation for the now. And you could even say justifiably - like the Jagrafess. But so often it just ends up biting him in the ass.

It did, didn't it?
