I think I might be in a mood today.
Yeah, yeah. Kylie Minogue. Whatever. Heard that last week. She's a singer, right?
ANYWAY, was thinking about possible Titanic storylines...
The Doctor is going to have to let people die. Seriously. People will drown. It will be completely unavoidable. Death all around him.
Jesus Tinkerbell Christ.
Yeah, thanks for the continued soul-crushing there, RTD!

Heh. Although I suppose he could run into Nine and Nine could kick his ass and then they could go get Rose. That would be hopeful.
However, Rusty is running dangerously into Joss Whedon territory, here. You'll know he's completely gone over if he starts killing people off for effect. (I love Joss Whedon. But there are some things about the way he does things that drive me crazy, two of which are 1. killing people off; 2. never letting any loving couple end happily. Ever.)

I completely agree. Buffy's finale broke my heart into little pieces, and man, was I pissed at Joss for all his "It's a happy ending!" bleating when he KILLED THE TWO DEMON CHARACTERS! For all that nonsense lately about RTD et al. being racist and misogynistic, they've got nothing on Joss et al.
Although I so need DW icons with Buffy quotes. Or Buffy icons with DW quotes.

Yup, me too. Right there with ya.

This is true. There was no reason whatsoever to kill Anya. Spike made a bit more sense (still trying to redeem himself or some such rot) but it still pissed me off. Rusty, thankfully, hasn't gotten to that point yet. If I ever watch another Joss Whedon production, I will never want any characters to get together canonically, because I know Joss will be horrible to them.

The kittens were the hope! Kiiiitteeeeens!

OMG. I would seriously pretend to ignore the gaping plot holes of Last of the Time Lords if they would have CE turn up. Nine said he'd been on the Titanic! *begs for a Nine-Ten meetup*

Well, the Master's due for a repeat death. The Doctor can get all angsty again, as he'd gone and set up the guest bedroom in the TARDIS and everything.

Yup, he mentioned the Titanic in TEOTW, and didn't the guy with the Doctor website in "Rose" have a picture of him on the Titanic? I can't go and look because I ended up deciding not to load Series 1 & 2 of Who onto my MP3 player to bring with me, but now I waaaaant them. *sniff* I'm a sad, obsessed little fangirl.
It would be utterly fab if they actually did get CE back, although I'm not getting my hopes up. He seems pretty well shut of Who.

OK, seriously, what exactly did he think the Master was going to do locked up in the TARDIS? Allow himself to be rehabilitated so everything's all happy happy joy joy? Please. I'm thinking he would've tried to get free and take over again.

No, don't think that picture was on the Titanic. It was with a family he told to stay off the Titanic.

I don't think the Doctor would have completely trusted him, but I do think there was that rehabilitation thing going on in his mind. After all, he was going to "save" the Master.

OH. If Nine went off and did stuff like the Titanic after saying 'bye in "Rose" and before coming back all "it travels in time!" And in that time he meets Ten! I can't figure out how it would all work, since Ten can't really tell Nine "OMG I MISS ROSE!" But he can totally convince him(self) to go back and pick Rose up!

Best. Story. Ever!
Rusty let Sally and Larry go off happily, though . . . it's just that the Doctor has one constant companion, which is emo.
no subject
Or maybe that's the emo you meant?

*bows* Someone needs to extend that into a longer version, though. That'd be cool.
Rusty let Sally and Larry go off happily, though
Well, yeah, which is why I said Rusty hadn't completely hit Joss Whedon territory yet. Joss would've probably had Larry get killed by a bus or something stupid right when Sally realizes how much she cares for him.

*snerk* Sad, but true. He needs a kitten to claw him when he's getting too gloomy.

Gah, you're right. I got so distracted by hoping for a Nine/Ten meetup that I completely missed the part about over half the people on the Titanic drowning.
[is shamed]
[although, is greatly amused by the new swear of choice in DW fandom being "Jesus Tinkerbell Christ". Like Jesus Christ Superstar, only slightly less blasphemous and more commercial]

I love my new DW swear. :D

Honestly I'm hoping that all of this soul-crushing RTD is putting our dear Doctor through, especially Ten, will lead to some sort of happiness when he's through (RTD and/or DT).
You know... like...Rose coming back!.I don't know much about Kylie... apart from being a singer so here's hoping for a great storyline at the very least. :)

You know... like...Rose coming back!.The Doctor definitely deserves a Rose-shaped reward from all this. *nods*

Yeah, don't know about her either. Yay? I'm hoping for a *light* storyline. In spite of all the death.

You know that whole "Green Fairy" / Absinthe comment I made yesterday?
No clue on this part. Really. I promise.

Gods, with everything else on my mind about the finale and what reason they might have for the Titanic to be a good idea for a Christmas special, that fact seems to have escaped my notice until now. Really, is RTD trying to make every Christmas special more depressing than the one before? TCI had a lot of drama but it was actually pretty fun and it had a happy ending, TRB was the angst hour and now the Titanic and there's nothing he can do about it.
I'm going to try to get back to thinking about the Nine-Ten team-up and the Titanic movie Jack and Rose running around, even though what I want is DW Jack and Rose running around, in this universe, with the Doctor in the TARDIS.

I think I'd actually read fic that had a Nine-Ten meetup on the Titanic!

Of course, the Doctor couldn't *really* say anything to Eight without destroying the fabric of time...

There's something so sweet about the person playing the Doctor being the ultimate fanboy of the Doctor. *pats*

Well it is the Titanic after all. He might be The Doctor but he's not God. He can't save that many people.
