  • I, and my friends, are getting old. Friday night: 20s - go hang out at a coffee shop to listen to a band. 30s - down a bottle of wine, decide not to listen to the band at the coffee shop, but instead storm Bed Bath & Beyond, followed by a swing through the produce market. I now own a new hand mixer and have cherries and tomatoes.

  • Haven't responded to comments in my thinky thoughts DW post, as I am unable to have thinky thoughts at the moment. And I'm not exactly sure when the brain will come back. *pokes it*

  • Must get back to classic Who. Oh, huh. Didn't realize that Terror of the Autons was the first Master episode. I've seen that already. Guess I didn't clue in to the fact that it was his first episode when I saw it.

  • *licks [livejournal.com profile] aj* Silly A.j., Rose is for kids! Or so I'm told. Oh, wait... Not sure I'm supposed to talk about her in public. :-X

  • I need diet Coke. Which involves going to the store when I feel like I need a nap.

  • ETA: I kinda want to mix something with my new mixer. *ponders*

Hee, I love that there's now this Rose-loving underground of somewhatrespectable adults because of the batshit Martha fans, and they're the ones who think we're batshit. Ah, fandom. Always brings the giggles.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-07 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Batshittery is definitely not limited to one group, that's for sure. And I do definitely find it ironic that the people who are the loudest criers of "Rose fans and/or D/R fans are batshit" are the people who are completely and utterly obsessed to the point of insanity with these fans and how they're unable to "properly" move on. Who gives a flying fuck what other fans give their attention to?

[identity profile] kammgirl.livejournal.com 2007-07-07 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG you talked about Rose. You batshitter. Make some pina colada.

I am just very very glad that they are there to educate me on modern racial dynamics. Whatever would I do without them to guide me?

*FLAILS*

licks aj* Silly A.j., Rose is for kids! Or so I'm told. Oh, wait... Not sure I'm supposed to talk about her in public. :-X

*looks at Sam Friendly banner*

Maybe we need Rose ones now!

That's another thing I don't get, you can tell that most of these girls are white, so to call us on our privileged opinions on race not meaning nothing is a taaaad hypocritical...

First rule of the Prairie Dog Network is you don't talk about Rose....

Second rule of the Prairie Dog Network is you don't talk about Rose...

(my vote is for a strawberry daiquiri...great, now I want one.)

I just find it hilarious that someone without knowing a thing about who is behind a keyboard calls anyone privlidged. It certainly is news to me that I am privlidged. Oh and that line of not comprehending modern racial dynamics is a quote. And still makes me giggle. Once again we can all thank our lucky stars for these brain trusts setting us straight.

[identity profile] ivydoor.livejournal.com 2007-07-07 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what really cracks me up. The assumption or (dare I say it) prejudice that we are all privileged. Ha! I live in the US equivalent of a council estate. So there goes that.

And where did someone say you didn't grasp modern racial dynamics? I need a good laugh.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-07 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course, I was bad and didn't put up a Sam-friendly banner last time around...

Oh, have been meaning to point you in the direction of [livejournal.com profile] oh_she_knows for a while. Lots of fic, but also lots of deep-thinky-thoughts-type D/R discussion as well. It's pretty nifty.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-07 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
MWAH!!

And I kinda want one too now.

[identity profile] angst-angel.livejournal.com 2007-07-07 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
...I was totally wondering what your new mixer was until I realized that you weren't talking about alcoholic drink mixers. *coughs* But Bed Bath & Beyond has such fun things, yay!

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-07 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
HA! No. A beater thing. :D And that store does have way too much fun stuff to look at. I almost bought a dog oven mit.

[identity profile] diavestra.livejournal.com 2007-07-08 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! I saw Runaway Bride last night. And the ep that introduced Martha! I like her.

[identity profile] kammgirl.livejournal.com 2007-07-08 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Oh it wasn't directed at me personally. It was in the f_w thread. Anytime someone disagreed with the rcaism view or called the whole thing batshit, that was one of the responses they got.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-07-08 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
I liked Martha back in Smith & Jones too. *digs out old review*

I kept wanting to put an "Alias" in there, ala the old series "Alias Smith & Jones". Heh.

And the rhino police were fabu.
