I'm in between conference calls this morning (one at 8:30, thank you), and got sucked into reading the Miceage update for Disneyland news and gossip. And specifically, an article about the planned DCA complete revamp. (Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] poohmusings. Looks like the Muppets 3D will eventually go away. We better hit it when you're down here.)

But anyway, what exactly is a "Victorian beer garden?" I mean, Victorian and garden go together in my mind, as does beer and garden. I think I might be picturing beer fountains or something. :D Oh, and this will be right next door to the revamped wild mouse coaster (becoming Ratatouille themed.) A beer garden right next door to a wild mouse coaster seems like an EXCELLENT idea. Mwah.

Oh, September 24 and the pumpkins come out! Yay!

Aww, yeah, we should. For nostalgia sake.

Hey, we going to stay at the hotel again? What was its name? Should we make a reservation for a room on the night of 10/20? Or it could be 10/21. I think I've decided that regardless of whether my conference is held in SD, I'm not going to fly back until Monday, 10/22.

Whoo!

We should stay at that hotel again - it was FAB. Full breakfast! Can't remember the name of it right now though. As far as the date...guess we'll have to figure that out. What we feel like.

Well, a Beer Garden is the outside area at a pub. Therefore a Victorian Beer Garden is an outside area in a Victorian Pub? Except for huge electric patio heaters and cheap plastic benches from B&Q is there any difference between a Beer Garden and a Victorian Beer Garden? I mean, there's grass, fresh air, somewhere to sit and a table for your alcohol. It's not exactly prize winning decor.

Unless there is some weird American definition for Beer Garden that I'm missing out on.

*is puzzled*

Yeah, my understanding of a beer garden is an outside seating area. I guess they could be having some sort of Victorian Pub attached to it. It was kind of a weird reference.

What I mean is, why is a beer garden an attraction? It's an area outside with a chair and table. Unless they're offering free booze, I don't see what's so special!

I'm not quite sure either. But it's Disney so maybe...animatronic drunks?

Muppets...going....away? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Awwww. Although the last time I saw it there, the film seriously needed to be replaced (it was fuzzy and scratchy) and the theater was looking worn. Poor Muppets.

[identity profile] jesidres.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but Disney has been down right abusive towards the muppets lately- cancelling their tour for silly reasons, slow about releasing the DVDs, using them as bit players in their TV movies. *Gets out her Muppet Movie DVD and makes some popcorn*

They're changing California Adventure???????

What else are we going to lose? :-/ (Not Soarin', please not Soarin'...)

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-09-08 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't see Soarin', which I kinda doubt they would. It's the *best* ride in the park! It's so good they copied it in Florida. (As well the should!)

Looks like that Whoopie Golden Dreams theater will go away, a lot of the theming will be replaced, and the amphitheater by the water will be expanded. Here's the article if you're interested:
